Flights to Dublin

Basically its about £25 each way to go to Belfast (from Luton, Stansted and Gatwick) with a hold bag (20kg per person) and, as dev2 said, its 10 euro on the train if you book in advance (and if your being really cheap is £14 return on the bus on the day from the europa bus station in Belfast), it takes about 4-5 hours overall for the trip but its nicer than getting stung by ryanair (flatmates tried the penny flight thing, payed a tenner booking fees and ryanair "forgot" about the return flight they booked and asked for £100 to get back from liverpool)

Just use the actually Aer Lingus website and not any of these random other places. Aer Lingus are the best :D

When are you going?

Answer this - I fly to Dublin about 8 times a year to see my gf and have never paid over 60-70 pounds all in return.

Last time was £22 all in:

Flights to Ireland are retardedly expensive. I fly home about once a month and it often costs me almost £200 with a so called low cost airline.

The price of your flight is the least of your worries if you're going to Dublin though. Bend over!

I personally prefer to fly with airlines that have flights leaving from Heathrow, Stanstead is a pain for me to get to (only been once for a Ryanair flight, and missed it:()

Why is it a pain to get to if you're in London? Bus A6 from Victoria, Marble Arch, Stratford or Golders Green for £8. Gets you there in a hour.

Assuming this is a leisure trip, before you spend all the money mate be sure you actually know what you are getting yourself in for.

Its a very average city indeed. So much so that the last few times i have stayed in the outskirts and not even bothered leaving my hotel outside business. Possibly the most overated place i have ever been to. Much much better destinations throughout europe which are just as easy to get to and cheaper to boot.

Flying to Ireland can be expensive but if you are patient and book well in advance it can be very cheap. If you fly during peak times and hours then yes, 200 pounds sounds right but as others mentioned deals for 10, 20, 40 Euro aren't uncommon.

Regarding Dublin being expensive it is true, Dublin is an expensive city. However this year the recession has knocked some prices down. However last year (08') London was #2 most expensive city in the world now its down to #20 (09'). While Dublin is still around the #9 position.
