**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Don't know if this has been mentioned but just got this month's PCG and it's got 94%.

Feel free to lambaste if this was already posted.

Anyone else used the character creator?

I created a human noble warrior, but can't seem to change the talents he starts with. Am I stuck with those, and they're just there for show or am I missing something?

AFAIK you can't allocate talents/skills in the creator, it's just there for show. Mousing over stuff to see what it does etc. I assume when we load any pre-made chars in the real game we'll be able to do it then.

It's confusing for the customer for sure, several different items, 3 DLC, 2 of which are free (but aren't advertised on some online shops) 1 that isn't but is only included in deluxe download versions, not all of the Collectors Edition boxed versions and no firm UK pricing for buying it seperately later.

1 game and there's 4 basic versions you can buy. Each version that's sold by a each shop includes different items and of course significantly varied pricing for all, including the same versions.

Yeah it's definitely hassle if you're a parent buying it as a present for a kid for example.

Fail.

On another note, maybe EA expect the average Joe buying this game will have more that 2 brain cells. I mean the game is about making decisions that effect the story. So start the fun now and have the option to choose which game you buy!

The way the game is being marketed by EA you'd think it was aimed at 12 yr olds :p

As I said in an earlier post, there will be a lot of mums picking this up for little Johnny.

My copy of pcgamer came and they gave the game 94%. The only cons they came up with was that the game is really hard, even on certain parts in the game on easy setting.
But apart from that they loved the game, the reviewer played a human noble and it took him about 80hrs to complete the game.
He also mentioned about the amount of story content in the game. As in theres tonnes of info from books and scrolls. Along tonnes of diaglogue and history about the games settings making it a very believable world. Also racism plays a big part in the game when playing as a non human character and how everyone treats you.
I am extremly excited about the game and booked 2 days off work so i can have longer to play it:)

It sounds a if it has got the potential to be one of the best rpg's ever

I'm glad it's difficult even on easy setting

Quick question - one of my friends in USA is wanting to gift me Dragon Age on steam. Would he pay the US price or UK price for to do this and which version would I get to download?

He'd pay the US and you'd get the US, which after the conversion works out almost exacaly the same price.
Wish I knew someone who lived in the US :(

So even though the UK doesnt have access to the US download I would be able to download it? lol
