The way they wrote it originally it wasn't three episodes but only two and it just expanded out so they had to make two a slow one with very little relatively speaking actually happened compared to 1 and 3.

Oh and agreed on Rodney - SG-1 made him out to be pretty annoying but then once you got to know him better in SGA he wasn't *so* bad - still a pretty annoying character in the sense that he always had that magic rabbit to pull out of nowhere when needed!

Rodney was damn annoying in SG1. They changed his character a lot in Atlantis though and I really liked him after that.(.

Personally I preferred the original Rodney to the new reformed version but the I suppose a character wouldn't remain hostile to a group of people he repeatedly has the save the galaxy with.

I really didn't like Taylor (I think that's the correct spelling?) A lot of the time she felt she was a very forced character.

I was a massive Jackson fan in SG1... I think he was my fav character. :p

I wish they hadn't included those communication stones.

you can bet at some point carter is going to come and save their arses :(

I've been watching it. I'm a Sci-Fi fan but i haven't actually seen any SGs (not even the film :( ) seems quite good. I'm actually on the side of Rush (and Eli) rather than the side of people who have guns when there is NOBODY ELSE ABOUT.

And Tefal, i agree about the stones.

Can anyone remember what the puruse of teh ship was and what was said.

Was it a auto seeding ship, but by the time it got far out, it was superseded by a new technique to deliver stargates?

previous unmanned ships had gone out to seed stargates (and possible life we don't know that yet though).

This one seems like it was the manned ship meant to explore the new Stargate networks.

But the ancients accsened (high form of existence, sort of like gods but they refuse to interfere, and are still around in that form.) so the ship carried on for the best part of a million years and is now insanely far away. (so far even at FTL full power it would take millennia to get home)

I never liked any of the others series at all, I have no idea whos who but I quite like it, anyone who like the closing from the other night, its here

The whirlwind/sandstrom monster was almost certainly alien, from how it was explained in sg1, the ancients are ascended yes but they only occupy the milky way galaxy if that makes any sense (well there was the one in pegasus in sga). But whos to say there aren't any other lifeforms that have managed to ascend or something similar, they are at the other end of the universe afterall. It certainly wasn't corporeal.

I think those saying its Stargate Voyager are stretching things a bit tbh.

Thought that kinda felt out of place and smelled too much of Stargate trying to be cool by copying every other show out there. Would have been better had they stuck to the instrumental music they had playing as the gate timer was counting down.

I also wonder if there's going to be a theme related track at the end of each show...

At some point this is going to be a fight between the SG people and Rush, Eli and maybe Tamara and Chloe. Only one side has guns, but the other has the ability to close all the doors. I'd side with Rush personally.

Epidose 04...I want the 42 mins of my life back.

Ive give it 4 chances so far, its getting another 2 and then Im giving up.

You mean Teyla? I agree, a lot of her lines and behaviour felt unnatural.

I was a huge Jackson fan too, but probably for different reasons ;). I loved Jack until season 7 or so, he changed too much when he ceased to be the main character.

I can't wait to see some more of Jackson in SGU his brief cameo in those training videos Eli was watching was nice but not really what I wanted!

I think there's an episode called "Earth" at some point which will hopefully feature some more of the SG characters we know and love (guessing on my part).

As for Teyla yea her character was really very secondary in the latter seasons of SGA - started out OK but she had far less of a role to play - much like Ronan due to being an "alien" and not really having that many skills other than her physical ones!
