Up to now, MEPs can use Westminster’s facilities; but, yesterday, Nick Brown tabled a deplorable motion in the House of Commons - to ban Nick Griffin from parliament. Just in case there were any doubt, Andrew Dismore spelled it out, saying Brown's motion would "mean that the newly elected British National Party members would not be allowed to get into this place.
Well there we have it, BNP meps are not allowed into westminster.

Epic fail if that happens.

They are elected members, they have every right to be there. They may be various things but they have as much right as anyone else. People voted for those BNP members to represent them and they beat every other party to win those seats.

Good old Democracy at work. We don't mind the BNP as long as they don't say it in Parliament.

What a stupid idea but not quite the end of Democracy.

Ahh, dredged up the quote in the end:

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Should essentially be the heart of democracy and that muppet Nick Brown obviously has no idea of it.

The BNP are talked about far too much. Shame they're not for democracy either when they're happy to exclude non-white members from signing up to their party.

Zero sympathy here.

Doesn't matter.

If they get votes they win. If other parties are too out of touch to prevent the BNP gaining seats then they need to get their act together instead of crying about it.

Whilst im not a BNP supporter they are necesscery in todays politics - as are other fringe parties.

Theres little surprise this is being pushed through by Labour - who have the most to lose and with the BNP making a dent in the Labour heartlands with disillusioned voters moving away.

I enjoy the BNP gaining in certain areas as it makes mainstream parties listen and take on board the concerns of those who lash out and vote BNP - because the big 3 are ignoring them.

Theres little democracy in this move though - more self preservation by Labour who've had it cosy for too long.

Agreed, its just the BNP are so hopeless and hypocritical I really can't muster much care for their 'plight'.

Obviously on a technical level its wrong. I just wish we could fast-forward to June 2010, get the Conservatives voted in, forget about all this trivial stuff and start dealing with the £800+ billion national debt.

Absolutely agree with this. I believe excluding them would be a dangerous mistake which will work to their benefit. At the end of the day they were elected. Their success is as a result of the failure of the other political parties to realise that many people feel threatened by multi-culturalism. Yet, when someone talks about these concerns they are immediately denounced as a racist even if they're not. Where else have they to go but the BNP?

However utterly deploarable I find the BNP and anyone who agrees with anything that comes out of their mouths, I really am gob smacked that the people who are supposed to be leaders of this country can think this is a good idea.
