How do you pick your EuroMillions/Lotto numbers?

I don't normally bother with the lottery but I thought I'd give EuroMillions a go this week. How do you pick your numbers? Birthdays? Lucky dips? Random number generator? Randomly tick off the boxes?

I get Derren Brown to do mine for me.

EDIT: Really, i just select numbers that mean something to me, birthdays, familys birthdays.

Lucky dip.

Was about to say "unlucky dip" but i'v actually been quite lucky recently. Got a 3 line euromillions last week and won something on 2 of the lines (total of £12 something. So i bought another couple of lines with my winnings...and won another 6 quid last night

Yes, i always do lucky dips.
Never won much, but frequently get £6-£12

I don't.

I know the odds of winning, and know its better to keep the £5 (or whatever it costs) in my pocket.

Tax for the stupid comes to mind.

Lucky dip every wed + sat, just 1 line and I do it with the direct debit thing so I never forget

Lucky dip, will never pick out a set of numbers because i'd be gutted if they ever came up when I didnt have a ticket (only play once in a blue moon). If my lucks in, my lucks in

I avoid the Lotto like the plague, I'd rather stick a tenner on Betfair every now and then, I'd see a lot more of it back.

If I were to do the lottery I'd just do lucky dip.
The odds are the same either way and using things like birthdays etc. only uses a subset of the available numbers and probably means that you're more likely to share the numbers with someone else doing the same thing, thus decreasing your expected winnings.

Good point. I've spent about 20 quid on next weeks EuroMillions, a mixture of lucky dips and random numbers.
