£5000 for a steam 'media' account

I offered £5000 for a media steam account (I know they exist) where all steam games forever are immediately downloadable.

They said 'No, but thanks for the enthusiasm'!

Guess money can't buy everything ... (I wouldn't have gone through with it -- I offered more as a experiment to see if they'd EVER part with one...)

yea they exist , but probably mostly for valve admins etc etc , i know 1 person who has it handy thing.

but 5 k for bit much probably pays out in while.

were did u find to buy it ?

Just wrote them an email.

TBH I'd never have paid that. I was doing what we call a 'proof of concept' at work -- just really seeing what they'd say out of interest ..

A group of us were gifted one of these Steam accounts each for beta testing Day of Defeat : Source.

I've found it quite useful so far. :cool:

Are there certain requirements for a media account? I.e. If you made a blog does it have to be online for a certain amount of time etc.?

The people I know, their website is hosted on valves servers.

And they know valve guys and get invited to events/expos etc.

Certainly is true. I beta tested DoD for a few of its incarnations and was a moderator on the DoD forums, before they were merged with the Steam boards.

Currently a Valve moderator on the Steam forums although I'm not as active there as I used to be. :cool:

I presume it's real but it's only open to certain people like Valve employees, maybe game reviewers etc.

Yeah, they're for reviews/employees, seen a few screen shots of the game lists - it's huge!

Would love to get my hands on one - then again I play anything that matters anyway, would only be for bragging rights.

I dont doubt they exist - I doubt the fact that you get one for beta testing a game. Actually I flat out dont believe it, there aint any doubt there

Maybe people would believe you more if you posted us some sort of screenie to back this up with? I don't doubt you here, but I know several do.
