Film / miniseries identification

I think I only ever saw the preview to this a few years back and I'm pretty certain it was for a regular American film.

The premise was that the planets aligned giving one guy an amazing amount of luck. Such that the FBI or something started to keep track of him.

He kept evading them, but I'm not sure if they caught him in the end.

Does anybody know what it is?

Just read the synopsis and that sounds kind of like it - but there's no mention of planets (the FBI/CIA or whoever were tracking the lad realised that the planets were aligned).

I don't remember it being an episode bizarrely enough.

John Travoltas character doesn't become lucky, he becomes very intelligent and develops the ability to learn things very quickly. Otherwise it does sound like it though.

I remember the series you're talking about mate. I'll be damned if I can remember what it's called though.

It would've been on TV around 2003/2004 IIRC wouldn't it?

I think it may have been a bit earlier. Possibly the very early noughts.
