Hey everyone,

So on a night out a friend accidentally dropped my camera, it wasn't overly expensive, about £80.

Anyway immediately afterwards the cameras were completely blurred:

But after turning it on and off it partially sorted itself out, but is still blurry down the left side:

I was just wondering if anyone had any idea whether that is the best im going to get out of my camera again :-(

Cheers,
Matt

If it's just a point and shoot then it's probably worth getting a new one.

Or you could try dropping to the other side so that the mirror/sensor knocks back into place :p

I am guess the lens out of position, there's no mirror in a P&S. If the sensor is loose, i doubt it'll work at all, it's not attached via cables but mounted/soldered onto the PCB.

It's probably an out of alignment lens in the zoom, which means you are unlikely to be able to fix it...

As above. In P+S cams there's very little margin for things moving. Personally, i'd resign myself to getting a new one... then give it a bash on the side just in case it does help.

Cheers everyone.

Yeah I have tried just knocking it to see if it gets better but no joy. I'll get another when I can next afford it.

It is just a standard point and shoot camera.

Thanks for the reply guys, just wanted to make sure no one had a magical fix before I wrote it off :-)
