I rarely see white immigrants "slagged" off on here in comparison to non-whites. Also, white immigrants are harder to identify as being immigrants by the average member of the public anyway; unlike a woman in a Burka who stands out and inevitably will attract more ire.

Don't try and claim a lot of this isn't about race. The comment I quoted was talking about a black guy implying that he was off to do the typical thing and rape someone.

Yeah, real unbiased viewpoints.

We do have black people in this country as well you know. How would a black immigrant be indentified then?

No idea. It can ONLY be a weak selfworth or being self-consicious and bothered about your skin colour.

I've seen much criticism of uncontrolled white immigration from Eastern Europe etc. Although when people like you are unable to cry 'racist' you just cry 'xenophobia' instead don't you.

Erm, Poles and Eastern Europeans are legally allowed to work in this country just as we are allowed to go and work over there. My dad works all over europe in the aviation industry and so I'm not biased against other europeans coming here to work, think of it being like another step along the way to the United States of Europe.

What I do, and suspect many others do too, is the ILLEGAL type of immigrats making their way to these shores with the explicit intent of flouting the immigration system. I saw Boarder Force a few weeks ago and a white Australian woman was turned away as she was on a tourist visa yet had all her chef's knives with her. Good I though, she shouldn't be over here working illegally and taking a British person's job. She was white, I am white and I still didn't want her over here working, its equally as hard for me to go to Australia and work, fair enough. Hardly whities looking after their own though eh?

Automatically assuming it is a race issue always ends up turning it into one.

What annoys people like myself is the fact that if you do it the correct way its costs thousands of pounds and is a real hassle. My wife is american, we got married here, she went home, applied for residency and has been here 2 years. In jan we have to pay a stupid amount for her permenant visa.
Weve decided not to bother as my residency visa for the US will be through by then.

Then you watch tv and see people just arriving and doing a runner. And wonder why you bothered spending all that money.

They can't do any job they want, they can't get a mortgage, become a member of a professional organisation, etc etc, where as you will be able to.
Their life will depend on everything being off the record which limits them somewhat.
Anyone could do what they do anywhere in the world, if they wanted to, I know I don't.

All immigration really does is spread the poverty (or other) problem around, it doesn't make things better. The British expats in other first-world commonwealth countries are distorting house prices for example.

Very spartan that's all there is to it. It helps that this area was largely forgotten during the housing boom, so the rents are still remotely sensible. Don't own a car, don't do nights out\restaurants. Basically the bare minimum required to survive.
