I need a hot drink - not coffe/tea ??

I can remember back in the days my parents and grandparents used to have some sort of marmite drink?
I'm guessing it was mostly marmite and hot water? I tried to make it a while back but it was not my cup of tea (excuse the pun ;) ). However I know of people who love marmite nad love tea to love marmite hot drink thing. Give it a go if you love marmite!

+1 on Vimto Hot!

Are you sure it wasn't Camp coffee? It's a chicory blend which is a dark brown liquid, looks like Marmite ;)

Quite sure it wasn't, because from what I can remember Camp Coffee was like a Liquid coffee you add water to?

And this was a salty, malty, black liquid, that always tasted like marmite.

Never been able to match the tastes in my memories though, it just tastes like ... (Bad)... Now to me. :)

You can add hot water to either Marmite or Vegemite and have it as a warm drink, never felt the need to try it myself but it is certainly possible.

I think I have a solution for you.

Hot mulled red wine.

Because it has been heated and simmered for a while most of the alcohol will have been driven off too.

Buy a bottle of Orange High Juice (orange squash) and put some into a cup. Boil your kettle, pour that hot water in and thank me for the best hot drink ever! :D

Hot Orange is the best. Fact.

Warm water with whiskey and lemon in. My mum used to give me this when i was unwell... which I was a lot ;).

Tried my 1st cup of tea - well infusions [lipton - no twinnings in the whole hyper market!] and to be fair, it was better than i expected, good flavour, but still taste like a drink with way to much water, if you know what i mean.

Redbush you say - ok, will try that when i find some - on the juice side, seems the french dont do cordials as we know them. They do small bottles for cocktails and thats about it, rest is ready mixed...

Anyone coming to Chaville from the UK, pack us a few bottles of vimto please :)

but at least now i have a warm drink to have with my cookies :)

cheers all - going to try each drink as i go, but not marmite.

Another vote for honey & lemon juice in hot water.

Warms you up, clears your nose, soothes your throat.

Tastes nice too.
