Bought some new wheels for the MR2 and when I came to fitting them I realised the locking wheel nut on the back is seized pretty tight.

The problem is that while trying to undo it I've managed to elongate the holes in the nut so it now wont get any grip...any ideas how to get the little bugger out now?

Yeah I've read a load of horror stories about this tri-thingy type of nut. Certainly be going with the splined type like I had on my Golf next time.

1mm smaller socket hammered over the end of it.

If its got a spinning collar on it, remove that first with needle-nose pliars.

+ 1 for taking it to a garage/tyre fitter.. we see this problem all the time and I reckon we all have a bolt extractor set in our toolboxes.

my old housemate had this problem with his integra

4 garages all failed to remove it (stripping the nut completely)

he had to remove it himself in the end using my dremel to cut the whole thing out!

a dremel ?

ha ha ha that's the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time

What other suggestion would you have?

None of the garages (who remove broken ones on a regular basis) could remove it.

I've had ones that refused to come out, try drilling it out if all else fails. Punch a centre if there isn't one already. Start small and use quality drills, take care not to snap one and use some cutting oil. Drill to the depth of the head and work your way up to the thread diameter and the head will fall off.
