ive jsut seen this game and it looks awesome

have been looking at the versions and what do you guys mean when yo usay DLC ?

i will never be buying anything again from EA electronically after the mess they made with my C&C 3 which resulted in me having to pay again for a boxed copy, so will be e-tailor or steam for me jsut want to know what version to buy.

DownLoadable Content.

Extra stuff that you get for the game, another area to explore - Warden's Keep - some music from the soundtrack and some wallpapers.

Just buy a boxed version for £24.99 then the wardens keep dlc separate for $7? Unless you really want that +crit ring is the wallpaper and soundtrack really worth £10?

Depends if the dlc is lodged with the EA Download Manager. Had a very bad experience with them that involved me being told i'd effectivley lost all the items I had paid for. Customer care is outstanding.

That's a good idea. I'd like the extra area but I think the rings are a lame idea.

That's what I'm doing, getting the the normal retail version for as cheap as I can find it, plenty of money left over for extra DLC if I choose. I find the stat items pointless. A few days in the toolset and there will be plenty of stuff like that available I would think.

Agreed, the 'exclusive' items are worthless when the game comes with a toolset, and even without one, you'll probably have replaced them with something better after a few day's play.

As for the DLC, the game itself seems huge, I'll worry about the DLC when I've played through the main game.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. The items would probably be replaced pretty quickly by much better items found in-game. The DLC does sound cool, but would probably be bored by the time I got to it anyway!

It all depends on the price. Steam isn't too bad, but of course EA store has the 25% off...although I really dislike EA store, so I would pay extra for Steam. Decisions decisions!!!

So am I the only one going to get the boxed version?

Seems like it :D

I always used to get new releases in a box. But Steam has improved so much recently, and I find the auto-update and easy install such a time saver. I still miss boxes tbh, and do find myself torn. I bought Borderlands on Steam yesterday (my biggest purchase on there) and think I will get Dragon Age on there when I get home this evening. I used to just use it for specials and the under £10 type games.

:p It doesn't bother me, I like both methods of getting software. I'm just too attached to my boxes.

Both have their pros and cons, so I don't mind. And the extra item mallarcy I'll be "hardcore" and do without... :D
