Anyone got one? Where do they currently sit in the leaderboard of Dell screens to pick up? I'm intending to use it for PC and XBox gaming and general Internet browsing.

I have the opportunity to pick up a couple for £400 each from a supplier and was wondering if instead it was worth paying the premium for the U2410.

I have one, it seems okay. It has been replaced 5 times though. The first one went wrong and then they kept sending duff refurbs (dead pixels etc)... Eventually after complaining they sent a brand new A01 version, and it's been fine (fingers crossed!) I think they've ironed quite a few of the initial problems out now, with the new revision etc.

From the thread on the U2410 that seems to have even more problems though!

I got mine from a popular auction site about 14 months ago and have had no problems with it. I had my PS2, 360 and three PCs connected to it at one point, and experienced no issues with getting any of it to work properly. I am not sure what trouble other users have experienced, but the monitor has been flawless in my case.

I got the 2408WFP (A00) a few years back, and found it to be excellent. In games, movies and desktop work it looked fantastic. However, one day it started showing lines 1 pixel thick that ran down the screen. I called up dell and the replacement arrived the next day, also it was the A01 revision they sent me.

This new monitor has been working fine since I got it, no problems at all. Also, I believe the A01 has less input lag problem than the A00 - but to be honest I never noticed any on either monitor. I since sold it to a friend and upgraded to the 2709W, he is also finding it to be excellent.

All-in-all a blooming good monitor and the warranty must be among the best available.

Now I would get one of these but my college has Dell monitors, Want to get away from that kind of thing

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say your college doesn't use S-PVA panel monitors :)

I know a lot of people don't like the idea of putting a hulking great, dell-branded monitor on their desks, believe me - I had similar reservations a few years ago. But the thing to remember is that their monitor department is far removed from their (god awful) PC business. They make some of the best quality monitors around and back them up with fantastic warranty.

So far I have bought 3 dell monitors and each has been fantastic.

I concur. My first TFT was a Dell 1703FP back in 2003; since then I have purchased Dell monitors exclusively. The Dell 1703FP was so good I purchased a second one. My father now has them both, still working perfectly after 6 years. I have nothing but praise for Dell monitors.
