The car is very quick for what it is

I'm not sure why people need to take an unrelated point and throw it into the conversation, using the fact that you drive a standard Mondeo against you inorder to make your opinion carry less weight is quite a childish thing to do really, but it happens time and time again to some members.

You're right, I still don't think the Clio is that bad though.

I wouldn't, Non Renaultsport clios are really bad.

What's the difference? Obviously the engine, springs, dampers, ARB are different but what else? This car has uprated springs and shocks on it, which I'd imagine are better than RenaultSport factory ones. So engine power aside, it should be as good to drive as a RenaultSport?

Got a week long suspension after I RTM'd him for being a dirty troll.

What did he say, out of interest? He does hate him some Alfas.

I think the downsides of the Clio (build quality, noise etc) are outweighed by the power/handling in the RenaultSport - no such benefit in the lesser ones!

Blimey, bit OTT. Still, nice to see at least a looked-after barry wagon, I guess.

Yeah massively pointless unless he's doing 8k every 2 months.

I'm fairly certain, that as a first car, the Clio in question with Apex shocks and Eibach springs will be fun to drive.

Parkers says 980kg stock and he's probably saved 30-40kg from stripping it out.

With the engine mods he might be up to 110bhp? Probably feels nippy for a younger driver...

seen a 1.4 K series make 119BHP with similar mods.

lol @ RTM too.

I've owned a Clio 1.2 which was lowered and had alloys, a 1.6 dynamique and am now driving a FF Clio 182.

The 182 is in a different league to any of the other clio's -handling, breaking, acceleration, looks

ive seen that little 1.4 glued to the rear of 172s until just over a ton, i doubt the "full fat" part would do a 182 any favours either lol

Erm so yes, it offers non of the good points from the Renaultsport range and all the bad points of the Clio.....

I didnt say it would; I was just saying what I drive and how it compares to other clio's. Motorway drag races are overated :o

So judging by your OP, you either own the car or are good friends with the owner?

Having owned a Clio. 2nd and 3rd gears were fun. All the others were hilarious.

Fast Road car? No. Track Car? Definately no.

Nice little town car? Big dingalingaling yes.
