Burger King in Hospitals

I was at Southampton General Hospital yesterday and was amused to see a Burger King located inside the Hospital building.

Is this is a recent thing? I thought it was quite funny Any other hospitals have them?

Exactly what I thought, had I been hungry I'd have had an XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal, a bargain at 10p less than it is on the high street.

it's part of the pharmacy, for those with eating disorders, when the doctor needs to prescribe 50cc of lard

That's been there years.

I believe quite a few years back they had some sort of issue with a sewage leak too.

Personally I wouldn't touch Burger King with somebody else's barge pole.
There is one in Addenbrooke's in Cambridge.
I go there every other day for dialysis and the smell from the place...egh...

As for the comment on hospital food.
How many people here have actually experienced it within say the last year or so?
I've had the misfortune to spend a fair amount of time in hospital over the past couple of years and I was actually most impressed with the food.
We got a menu each day with 2-3 things to choose from (for our hot meal).
If there is nothing on there you like then there is a "standard" menu you can order from.
You can also order hot food whenever you like or get hungry.

The portions were good and some of the dishes (like their chicken curry and beef curry) were gorgeous.
