Getting rid of my e46 323 and looking for something a bit more fun. ie quicker and better handeling.
Requierment's: as quick or quicker than the bmw
comfy for long hauls
something that wont kill me on insurance (23)
up to 6k to spend.

Seriously, upgrade to an e46 330 sport. Its like your car but much improved in every way. Pretty damn good allrounder and wont hurt on insurance or running costs too much.

I think it's illigal to make a car look newer than it is with a private plate. Either way it wouldn't bother/restrict me and I'd do it anyway if it just so happens to work out that way. PC Plod has far more important things to worry about than making your 1995 Jap rust box look like it was built in 1997.

It's not illegal, the DVLA simply won't allow you to put the numberplate on the car.

If i get a private plate put on an 06 car, who decides if the numberplate makes it look equal to or older an 06 car, or newer than an 06 car? Am i missing something obvious here?

Its perfectly logical, stop being a numpty.

I cant put a 59 plate on my L reg Rover for obvious reasons. It means you cant change the plate every 6 months to pretend your car is newer than it is, which would be a minefield when it came to buying a car for many people.
