I hope I'm not the only one who absolutley hates this.

Just looking at a few images of the new Westfield 1600 Turbo thing and they are putting the dials in the centre too!!!!

More and more cars seem to be doing this and it is just wrong!

The 7 is an exception as it is quite frankly a tiny car, i'm sure there are plenty other cars that come under the same requirements to but for the average car its not needed. :)

i still blame the mini :p

The story on pistonheads suggests that in the case of the Westy it's to make it cheaper/easier to build both left and right hand drive versions.

Tends to be on cheap crappy cars, so they can use the same upper dash for RHD and LHD cars. Don't buy a cheap-mobile and you won't have a problem.

If only we (and a few others) could get our act together and drive on the correct side of the road this problem would disappear - and driving in France would be a whole lot less exciting

Exciting? It took me about 2 minutes to adjust to driving on the left

The old Yaris is an interesting one, you can't even see the gauges from the passenger seat, it's got some crazy digi-dash projection going on

I hate this too. It's the main reason I didn't consider a Twingo Cup over a Swift Sport. I cannot abide the stupid, quirky interiors that some cars have.

My Swift may be put together using the same plastic they make bin liners from, but at least it looks like a normal car inside!

i noticed that about the yaris, great idea if you don't want your missus to see how fast you actually are going :D

as it is i get a rollicking for doing the speed limit on the motorway

If you can't see, don't pass.
Sage advice ;)

If it's it's such a big issue rent a LHD car or buy one.
But I like my Hyundai i20 :(

I would be even happier if we drove on the right like the rest of Europe (and most of the world) and thus has compatible cars.

Better still buy a Mclaren F1 so you can sit in the middle and overtake at a million miles an hour if you wish.
Even if it was an option, I would probably take a rain-check on that improbable idea.

Happy now
