I've been playing around on my PS3 a bit, as I recently got it. But today I decided to have a look at the display settings. It's only displaying at 720p, and when I select 1080p it simply goes blank. Weird eh.

The monitor is a dell 2409 as I previously said, connected via hdmi.

Anyone else got a working example?

My only guess is that even though the seller advertised the cable with full 1080P support, I have somehow ended up with one that only supports up to 1080i. Either that, or it dosen't support it via hdmi?

May not be helpful but it looks like you're not the only one who is having problems with 1080p: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=1080p+hdmi+ps3

Yeh I have googled this quite a bit. Most are from people going "duh why dosen't my TV play 1080P and my friends does" ....."That's because your tv dosen't support 1080P"

I think it's highly unlikely that there is a problem with my PS3 or Monitor. So it's just gotta be the cable. It was a cheap £3 one, even tho the seller did say 1080p support. Gonna get a decent cable from a games shop today and see if that works.

I have the same monitor as you and have been running it on 1080p since i got it with no problems. Is there another HDMI cable you could try that you may have in the house?
