Hi all, just started using MSI Afterburner to overclock my 5850, but i cant get the clock speed slider to go past 775mhz.

Any ideas how to push it further? As soon as i click apply it jumps back down to 775

Cheers

You have the usb drive at the top of the 'hard disk boot priority' menu? Do you have an F12 selectable boot menu?

i have it at top but which one do i use out of these:

LS120, ZIP, USB-FDD, USB-ZIP, USB-CDROM or USB-HDD?

Do not use the BIOS from my rapidshare though, it's for the 5870!

I havn't, i used one from the link fornowagain provided that ended in .A11 which i renamed to .rom

When i follow your tutorial, and the BOOTFILES are made with the HP usb dos program, should i be seen these files on the dongle, because after the boot disk has been made im seeing nothing on the usb.

ok will have a look again, but when i make the dos thing with the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool i see no files on my usb.

Well i think i did it ok, backed it up, flashed it, but when i went back into windows its asking for me to install the drivers again - is this normal?

never mind, rebooted again, windows picked up the drivers.

gpu-z says my vendor is msi even though the card is sapphire, nothing to worry about is it?

afterburner let me up the clocks past 775 now though :)

what clock speeds are you lot getting, or are you using 5870's?

cheers everyone!
