Now this makes things interesting. Anyone here using this motherboard?

I was just comparing the price of a i7 920 cpu, mobo (gigabyte ud5), ram and cooler against an i5 750 cpu, mobo (evga p55 ***), ram and cpu cooler. The i5 750 setup was working out at about £150 cheaper (over £50 of this was due to the x58 mobo) and was almost enough to sway me, but now this offer pops up.

Am I right in thinking that the 'GTi' model is actually a lower model to the normal Bloodrage?

wow.

only thing to say is BUY THIS NOW.

I have the full on bloodrage and paid far more than this, all for sas and more WC options. It's a great board ;p I might even pick one up at this price to build another i7 rig with.

How good are Foxconn compared to say ASUS or Gigabyte and what's the chances of getting and i7 920 to 4GHz on this board?

mine has been past 4ghz. There's a healthy community out there just with bloodrage boards.

Can't speak against the others, people I know who've had to rma foxconn stuff haven't found the procedure any more stressful than any of the other big brands.

Don't forget this is less than £140!!!!!

The full on bloodrage was well over £250 at launch.

If i got this board what would be good ram (6gb) to get, also i have a Silverstone Grandia case and can only fit CPU coolers like scythe mini ninja. but would really like to hit 4GHz so with that in mind does anyone have any suggestions.

Also would a Corsair H50 cooler physicly fit inside my case?

does your case have a 120 exhaust as well as good intake options? If so H50 should be fine and means you can stick whatever ddr3 triple channel ram in you like. It's the dimm spacing which makes ram with big heatspreaders a no no as bigger HSF foul on them. I've seen megalahems turned 90 degrees to get around this. I don't think the mini ninja will cool well enough at 4ghz anyway. New case maybe?

Fwiw I have the ocz reaper with the tall heatsinks and a H50, pics in my build thread.

The Grandia as 2 x 80mm rear fans and 1 x 80mm side fan. with the aid of an adaptor i was going to try and mount the H50 on the side exhaust. I've looked at case but not seen anything as good as the Grandia, I also have to have a Desktop/HTPC case because of location.

That could be an option but only on side exhaust then i would have to make sure i have the clearance. Do you know how thick the Rad and fan would be?

I also just read a review that this board might not be a good clocker and could do with a bios revision.

how old was the review? I'm using p06, i think 4 wasn't great. No reason it shouldn't clock well. Good bios and well made board.

Will measure fan/rad in a min and post back as well as a few links to bloodrage forums. I'm biased obviously but for the money i think anyone would say it's a great board.

np, not somewhere i've ever rated there reviews.

rad plus single scythe fan mounts 50mm deep, there's obviously the hoses protruding also. Have a look at mine here:

I have the non gti board but it's pretty much the same. Here's the bloodrage owners club over at overclock.net:

http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/499925-foxconn-bloodrage-club.html

and OC guide at xtreme cpu:

http://forum.xcpus.com/overclocking/16727-foxconn-blood-rage-overclocking-guide.html

guide didn't work for me - too many volts used causing my D0 to be unstable. I'm at 1.2v now for 4ghz, I've been to 4.2 HT on stable but it was getting warmer than I liked and I'm sure I could go lower than current volts but don't have time to fiddle atm.

Looks like there's not enough room to fit the rad in my case, I'm not put off the board though and i'm going to research different cooling solutions. Thanks again

your welcome, always happy to help if i can. Grandia looks a nice case, maybe consider not clocking the nuts off the i7 24/7 as a compromise?

What is the support like from Foxconn, do they have regular bios and driver updates?

Also does the GTi model support SLI and Crossfire?

Just trying to figure out what the difference is between this and paying £50 more and getting something like a Gigabyte UD5 or a DFI board. Though I suppose the Gigabyte UD3R is the direct competitor to this motherboard.

The GTI is essentially identical to the big brother it just has less exotic pwm cooling and no firewire or SAS ports. And you don't get the NB fan/Waterblock/DI pot.

If i wasn't going to put my Bloodrage under water i would send mine back and get this @ £60 cheaper tbh, silly price for one of the best boards still.
