New watch options, C.£1K

Go for a used Auto Seamaster for about £8-900

something like a Breitling Colt Auto should be in your price range used

Or stretch the budget to about £1300 and you can pick up a very nice used Planet Ocean

whats the colt worth rotty

got one sitting in a draw, from 1999 hardly used
also got a nearly mint seamaster auto

never wear them anymore, not selling tho

Is that how much they go for second hand ?? If I could get £900 for my auto Seamaster then I would part with it to upgrade to something else.
there's a mid size auto sea master for sale at the moment on tz for £595 seems cheap but the mids are not as popular

Spamalot, if you were after a PO would you want the 42 or 45mm and strap or bracelet ?

It would have to be both a strap and the larger of the two. I'm a big bloke, 6"3" and 15st so bigger is better.

Thanks for all your help so far guys.

Any other suggested places I should be looking for used pieces?

nice choice
I asked seeing as I know as a potential 45mm on bracelet

have to say the 45mm on orange strap is amazing

Rotty,

Sorry I was trying to have a barney with the Mrs and make dinner when posting that. I'm actually looking for for a 45mm on a bracelet. Can you send me details of the one that you know of, either on here or via email latham.eddie(at)gmail.com

Thanks very much! :D

Anyone that wants to know you can get 15% off at Goldsmiths if you go through Quidco. You can still get interest free also.

Rotty with discounts is it generally independant type places that do them or do the 'big' chains partake in much bartering as well? Just because the place local to me that has them in is an Ernest Jones but if places like that won't do a deal then I won't bother with them.

I have had discounts at Goldmsiths but never tried at EJ

the discounts at these sort of places is not usually that much though

I tried buying a PO at Ernest Jones - manager refused to give me more than 10% off RRP... So I walked out :p

I've asked this before - where in the hell are "independent" Omega ADs!? I can't find one anywhere.

Well you can get 15% back using Quidco from goldsmiths. You can also get 0% interest over three years so thats got to be the same as 20%+ discount.

20% for cash is as good as you will gte on a PO so 15% + interest free is pretty good

normally you only get interest free if paying full list

Thats what I was thinking. Is there anything that you can think of that if I you were to get new with 15% discount and 0% would be a good buy to sell on in a couple of years for no loss. Or even anything you could buy now for 15% less than rrp and sell for a profit?

only thing that you could guarantee that with would be stainless steel Rolex Daytona but I very much doubt you would get one

most new watches will lose 30-40% of RRP when they hit used markets ( 50% + for makes like Tag )
