Radeon HD 5870 QuadFire User Video

Thanks so much! Love the avatars here! Just awesome!
I did have a question about something. Why do you guys think crysis runs so smooth with 2 5870's while playing, but with 3 it feels laggy.. But when I switch on v-sync, it's smooth again.. Trying to fix it right now..Taking a break from benching so I thought I'd play for a bit. I know the framerates are higher with 3 cards, but it feels really slow without v-sync on..
Monitor maybe? hmmm.

Uneven frame intervals.

You are welcome!! I fixed it.. Instead of using 3 gpu's, I enabled two and overclocked them to the end of the world.. then pumped 4.72ghz in my cpu.. smooth and ready to rock.

So I finished the crysis vid.. It's up on the page.. Maxed out and running smooth with only two cards.. Had to push all the hardware pretty good though.
Thanks again for having me guys! :)

Welcome to the forums and great setup you have, looking forward to some more benchmarks, would be great if you could run fraps in your vids.

How long until it is released to the public is a different question. I think they're waiting on the Hemlock product launch to include lots of nice bug fixes and game profiles. But that's just my opinion.

On-topic, I've played with the bench a little and its very nice. Personally I thought the Tropics one looked great under Dx10.1 with full details/etc., too.

Stutter could be to do with when you have 3 cards in TRI FIRE it runs the cards 16x 8x 8x but I dont know which motherboard you have.

I was using the 4-way classified and p6t7 supercomputer.. both have 7 pcie slots.
Until sadly I fried both of them doing a dice/ln2 run.. So those boards wont be back til this week.. Right now I'm using the p6t. 3 pcie slots @ x16 , x16 , x4 :(

Hey.. Just wanted to let you know I'm working on a full scale eyefinity bench with multiple resolutions.. Coming today.. :)

90 fps in the DX11 bench! :eek::D

A really awesome setup there mate, them 5870's are immense

One of the key benefits of DirectX 11 is it's ability to deliver better looking graphic but also a lot quicker and as an educated guess I believe that's why it's adoption rate is a lot higher then that of DirectX 10 (by the end of next year there is meant to be 30 DirectX 11 titles out on the market).

That and the person who bought Vista only used Word and Excel.

Fantastic looking setup there Bodar! Looks like you're having a great time at the cutting edge :)

Going off on a complete tangent here for a minute..

I was browsing the Guru3d thread when I noticed someone linked to your myspace and had one of those profound small world moments.

Back in 2000/2001 I worked for Sam when we moved down from nyc for an ill fated Austin office opening as the dotcom bust grew. Still, I really enjoyed my 7 months in Austin and made it along to a couple of your gigs. I just may have even been the first European import of your debut album :D If you have an elephant like memory I would have been the English Mark.

Hope the family is doing well and pass my best regards on to Sam when you next see him.
