Didn't have a single problem with online play, was connected to my router via wireless.

Absolutly not a single problem, at first I didn't even know I was playing people online until my wife said "why do they have funny names by there"

Only then I clicked (after not loosing any I might add while trying some new things) and thought oh crap I didn't realise this and started kicking butt :D

I had to fight a guy ranked Tekken lord who had played over 200 games before the last boss and managed to kick his ass after less than 10 games on this new version ;)

I've played/owned all previous tekken games and I love this

I have no clue what some are talking about regarding lag, I didn't even notice I was online when i went into arcade mode (was online arcade but I was expecting someone to challenge me etc).

Feels/handles just like previous ones to me, new moves and some slightly different moves to older ones from previous games.

Really? The lag makes this game absolutely unplayable online for me. None of my combos stick and people spamming lows/throws means it's not just me experiencing it, as these are clearly lag based tactics.

Also, are you 100% sure you're playing online? You can't play arcade mode online as far as I know. If you're playing against a computer at all, you're in offline mode.

Edit: Tekken 6 is slightly better than Tekken 5: DR Online, but that isn't saying much...

Of course it was online.

Perhaps my explanation of how I was playing against others online isn't entirely correct as I never intended to play others as I did.

I can assure you, I was playing others online and ranking up the online system.

There was offline arcade and online arcade, I picked online arcade.

Fair enough :)

Personally the lag makes this game pretty much impossible to play online. I'm missing nearly all my juggles/bounds and there's no chance to low parry or throw break. Until they fix this, I guess I'll just have to stick to local play.
 
Ooh was gonna pick this up on Friday, might grab Borderlands instead then. Hopefully I will be able to play it in the shop before I have to make my mind up.
 
Also I might add when I played it yesterday I had to download an update to 1.01.

That may have fixed any problems some are talking about?

Hopefully picking mine up today from a independant shop today hopefully let me have it early considering i missed ordering online for getting before the weekend :(
 
Ahhhhhh, I hate it already. Had to fight a blue and white panda with gold armbands in one of the rounds on arcade and just couldn't beat the damn thing no matter which character I used. Controller nearly went through the tele :mad:

I just seem to suck at fighting games these days, must just be getting too old :(

Didn't even know this was out. So, how is it compared to SF4?

edit: Is it even out yet? Showing as in stock online so I'm guessing it must be.
 
It's out on Friday, a few people have it early but a few obvious pirates have been posting and bragging about it.

It's been out in the arcade for years so if you want a wider range of opinions you can find them easily.

I prefer SFIV, Tekken is much more mash friendly and you can take away 90%+ of a characters health with one combo using some characters. Just stupid I think.

It's still quite fun though, I just can't get into it like I can SFIV. Something about it feels off to me.

Isn't comparing a 2D vs 3D fighting game kind of moot though? :p

But yeah, Tekken is just, well Tekken. And I agree with Margaret, some combos or even single moves can take down retarded amounts of health. Kazuya or Jin's spinning uppercut thing, and another I remember is back on Tekken 3 where there was this one punch move with True Ogre, if landed right, it can instant one-hit KO.

Still, at least Tekken doesn't pee me off like Dead or Alive's countering system.
