Core i7
3 x 2GB RAM
PSU
SSD
Additional HDD for data
Beefy Video card for gaming
Asus Mobo would be nice
Dont need optical drives
Preferably quiet, not bothered how the case looks as its going under a desk
Overclocking...maybe?

Budget of £1200

Can it be done, if so show me how!
TIA :)

Food for thought there, thanks :)

I've had a go on my own without the SSD. It's slightly over budget but not far off. How does it look? Are any of the ATI GFX cards on a par performance wise with the GTX 295?

the 5870 equals the 295 at moment plus its cheaper (£300), new (always nice to have shiny things :D ), uses less power, produces less heat, doesnt suffer from microstutter (single card not dual), has DX11 is only going to get better with newer drivers and games engineered for 11

Thanks, thats saved me a fair bit :) How does this revised spec look? Ok for space in the case and power requirements?

Need to make sure the 5870 will fit in the case, i have no experience of the case so i'm not really basing this off anything other than people being caught out and buying cases that won't fit the 5870 in.

Its 11 inches long.

I am fairly sure the 5870 will fit because you can if it doesnt remove the top hdd cage and just use the lower one and that way it will 100% fit.
