I've just gone to play Crysis through my laptop through Steam and its told me that the game cannot start because i'm out of licences, I reguarly re-install both my PC and laptop and have never had this problem before. How can I reset my licences or get more or fix this issue?

Crysis or Crysis Warhead?

Crysis never runs out of licenses as far as I know, Crysis Warhead on the other hand has an install limit of five (I think) then you have to contact EA (or whoever the publisher is).

They both use Securom. EA have released a securom deactivation tool here..

http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/

It's not clear though whether it's too late in your case. It suggests you need to deactivate a working copy to regain the licence. EA tech support may or maynot be helpful.

Yeah seems like since i've done the re-formats that i'm a bit buggered, will have to try and contact EA about this. I hate crappy DRM, all it does is make life harder for those of us that have paid for the game, steam already means I can only play the game in 1 location at a time what more do they need.

Not neccessarily buggered, try the tool, if it doesn't work contact their customer support. All they will want is for you to prove it's a legit copy, and given it's a steam distribution, that shouldn't be hard.

Ok well will try the tool and see what happens and failing that will email the EA monkeys and see what they have to say.

When he said that he meant steam already ensures he only plays on 1 pc at a time, thus why is there further obstacles. He doesn't want to play on more than one pc at a time.

I'm aware of what he meant, i was merely making a quip addressing the poorly executed sentence. Hence the addition of the "time lord", which is not a real thing.

Well done, you've won this years "i take everything way too literally... what's a joke?" award.
