DICE Takes The Cake

Thinking of getting this when it comes out due to not getting mw2, never played battlefield.

Ive never really been into the whole vehicle thing, is there modes\mods like SnD but only for infantry with no vehicles?

Obviously id play with them in regular games n pubs, but for scrims vehicles would ruin it.

Yea I was thinking the same... I prefer games set in the future, they tend to be a little more imaginative, oh and I love mechs :D

Either way I can't fault Bad Company though and will be buying BC2 when it comes out.
 
Holy EA! bring out a Battlefield without the 1.3 patch
64 player maps
vechicals choopers and planes
Warlord map without being able to jump into the walls.
and actully listen to the community to fix bugs!

If you listen to this and answer my prayers i promise you a lot of BF2 vetarans :D
 
I never really liked the Call of Duty series, the single player was really awesome, but I've always hated the multi-player, there is completely no teamwork or any nice team-play in it.

Next to that, I am a Battlefield player.. played lots of gathers, matches in BF2. Played in the Clanbase ladder, and really enjoyed the game. The only misstep Dice made is launching Patch 1.5 and messing it up. That's why I left BF2.

Let's hope BF:BC2 turns out better.
 
Yeah 1.5 was shocking.... where i used to nail people with a shot, i couldn't even reg a bullet on them.... its like they put bullet drop on it or sumin, hit boxes were completely out!

Never mind big year next year!

Trust me its NOT.... dam it i'm in work and cant show the video.

Basically the main producer of DICE ben cousin's said in an interview... "Battlefield bad company 2 is NOT battlefield 3"... which is why all the speculation started.

You can actually pre-order bf3 in game.

The sad thing is BF3 will more than likely come out on console also... however judging by previous battlefield games it will be completely different on PC to console... look at battlefield modern combat for xbox!!!

Brilliant news! OK well a little searching brought up this site

Now idea how legit they are, but they seem to have researched more than me. They are saying :
- PC exclusive
- Frostbite 2 game engine running DX11
- DICE is the producer
- EA is the publisher
- Will feature some sort of destructible environment or the ability to destroy objects (canisters, windows, etc.)
- Won't be as system resource heavy as previous Battlefield's (by ratio)
- First Person Shooter
- Released no later than March 2011
- BF:BC2 =/= BF3


The last point I have bolded, this is what confused me. Also what the heck does that symbol mean?

Lastly, why is there no official thread, why is there no 'hoo-haaa' this is massive news. Or am I missing somthing?
 
You're right, there should be an official thread for BF3, but I guess we're still lacking quite a lot of key information about the game.

There was a thread with people raving about BF3 a little while back, but that can be searched for. Oh, I believe "BF:BC2 =/= BF3" means "BF:BC2 is not equal to/the same as BF3". He's basically saying that they're different games :).

I'm not sure where they got info like BF3 will be DX11, I certainly haven't heard that. However, I'd assume that it is.
 
Im just hoping this wont be as easy as COD4, first match i ever played i got a K/d ratio of 25:1, wtf i hadnt even played a cod game since the first. I couldnt believe how stupidly easy it was. No weapon recoil, get told when you hit someone etc. Saying that cod4 is enjoyable just far to easy. Hoping something comes out soon that requires real skill to play well
 
I love all the l33t guys that post here and go on about how COD4 is too easy for them.

Come join a few of us for a scrim and we'll see how 'easy' you find it....

Well, if it's going to be released in march 2011 then it should be DX11.

DX10 is old news.
 
I was shocked to find out that my brother has spent £65 for items in BF: Heroes...:( Wouldn't be surprised if you can buy unlocks in the next PC release.

PS/ next time i see my brother i will be giving him a slap!

i would happily.... Guessing 5v5 S&d? Easy compared to cod1 which i play competivly for a couple years. Though maybe there just wasnt as many noobs around then.
