What do you guys think i use my computer for games/ video encoding & decoding plus i do a bit off photo editing

thanks;)

upgrading the one in your sig right??
the top intel one looks a bit better especially with that cooler you can over clock it quite high
another thing you may consider is to upgrade your GPU if you are tired of that 4850 you could consider a 5850 at that budget

Its got to be worth the £20ish for a quad

Get a Phenom II 940, which is nearly as good as a 955 (about 120quid, although it's no longer on OCUK) then an AM2+ mobo, reuse ur DDR2 ram.

I really like my X3 720 BE. Got it up to 3.5Ghz, and I think i have headroom.

I'd recommend it. Some can be lucky and unlock the 4th core, but to be honest nothing really uses multiple cores anyway, so the 3rd is just a bonus for background tasks when the first 2 are used on a game :)

I highly recommend Gigabyte boards with the SB710 or SB750 southbridge chip, as they allow core unlocking with ACC.

Can get a good gigabyte AM3 board for £105, 720 is on offer for £93, and you can get some good memory for that last £60.

Or there's this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-249-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1328

Friend has one, overclocked it to 3.8 on air. That'd give you some more space for better memory :)
