Accommodation in Sydney for NY 2010

My friend is in a bit of dilemma. He is going travelling around Nov/Dec time and will be in Sydney over the new year. Problem is all hotels and hostels seemed fully booked (with in his budget - don't know what it is but he travelling for a few months so I doubt it is much). After a search myself, I couldn't find anything so thought someone on here might have a solution. Any ideas?

Every single hotel and hostel in Sydney is fully booked? I take it you mean within his budget?

I booked an apartment in Sydney for NYE back in April in the knowledge that accomm goes very quickly when it becomes available. When it comes to the cheap stuff he will be facing an uphill struggle as far as I am aware.

Not very helpful I know, but I think it's the reality :(

Bapps, you not spoke to Rosie, Dan, Sam or Saph about it? They would prob be the best people to chat to seeing as they just came back from there and I don't think they pre-booked their accom...

If not I'll chat to my mate and let you know, he's in Sydney at the moment...

go to shop buy sleeping bag.
Sleep some where in the sleeping bag you purchased.
Take sleeping bag back to shop saying you dont want it
get money back
????
result

:p

Hiya

I was there last year and stayed at WakeUp in central Sydney but a friend got there late and booked in at Sydney Star Hostel quite late ( as in 21st December)

www.sydneystar.com.au

273-275 Darlinghurst Road
Sydney NSW 2010, Australia

Nice place and not expensive.

The YHA on Pitt Street also had loads of places available

Sydney Central YHA 11 Rawson Place, Corner of Pitt St and Rawson Place (opposite Central Station) Sydney 2000. Phone: (+612) 9218 9000

If he's in Sydney at the time he'll find somewhere, try places in Bondi as well, its a little bit out of the centre so less busy

Hope this helps
