I think you'll find it's actually the other way round and women from 3rd world countries will mature much faster due to the hardships that western people don't endure.
 
Hmm, surely must be a lot more to this, such as he must be a very well respected and trusted man of the community for any lady to want to marry.

Chances are he may not be 112, I have been told that ages can often be vastly over inflated by men across Africa (and indeed many other places) as age is seen to be akin to being wise. Wise men are typically more powerful.

With regards to her age, lets not forget that in many societies, waiting till a girl is 17 to marry her would be deemed very considerate. She probably felt she had little choice in the matter and on certain superficial levels is probably genuinely pleased that she has been married off to an older man who is worthy even of a tabloid story in the UK!

However, this does not mean I agree that women should feel they have to get married, nor does it mean I think what he did is any different from what we would call grooming, nor does it mean I think any of it is ok simply because it is somebody elses "way of life".
