So today, whilst talking with a colleague about next year budget planning and celebs we'd like to pasty smash, I discovered that I was wrong about something of no importance but it still bugged me.

Our conversation :

Me : Kate Beckinsdale. Definitely.

Him : Who? Oh, and the Olsen Twins for me.

Me : Kate Beckinsdale. The actress. By the way, that's two, not one. You have to choose again or split them in half or something.

Him : You mean Kate Beckinsale? It's not Beckinsdale. Are we talking about the same person?

Me : No, it's Beckinsdale. Who are you talking about?

Him : The British actress Kate Beckinsale.

Me : But that's not her name. Her name is Kate Beckinsdale! Are you messing around?

Him : It's really not. Google her. And I'll choose the less anorexic Olsen one. Google her too.

Me : *Googles whilst he watches*

Him : Told you. Beckinsale! Google the Olsens twins now, this is annoying me.

So I was wrong about the spelling of an actress' name, whose films I haven't really watched, and which has no real impact whatsoever on my life. Yet it's still bugging me. What other things do I think I know that I'm wrong about?

when i was about 12, my dad agreed to get us an amiga for christmas. he kept referring it to as a commodore amiga when we were shopping for one, this would really annoy me as i figured he was just being 'old' and didn't know what he was on about.
 
Are you for real, you didn't know her name? She's the Daughter of Richard Beckinsale, I'd have thought that little fact would have given you some idea about her name.
