5770 Crossfire worth it?

Short answer no.
I think the /4 slot would hold the card back.Why not buy a single 5850 it's quicker than a gtx 260 and cheaper than 2x 5770's.If you can find one.
 
At a guess, you'd get about 20% less performance less than a 16x / 16x setup. It would still be very quick and surpass your 260 by a good margin, however, I echo what cook001 has posted and suggest you look at a single 5850.

I currently have a 5770 and a very similar spec to the OP (same M/B, CPU, H50). I would be interested in hearing how you calculate the 20% less performance figure. Any references?
 
i'm not sure what i'd get if my 2nd 4850 was in a x16 slot (is in x4) but that gives me an extra 4k in 3dmark 06.
