I ordered a Storm 2 as an insurance replacement after my Bold 9000 got dropped and it arrived today.

I've only had it for about half an hour but I must admit I am quite impressed - I also have an iPhone as my personal phone and it's odd to use them side by side, but in a way I quite like the tactile feedback the Storm 2 gives. I also like the larger screen, much better for reading emails on.

All in all, quite impressed so far! Seems to be a long way from the original Storm, and OS5 is nice too.

I'll post some photos up later on if anybody's interested.

Hi Olly, yes I would be interested to see some pics as atm I cant decide between a Touch HD Pro 2, HD2, Storm 2 or a 3GS 16GB

I already have a TP2 with WM 6.5 as my work phone and love it

If it's your only phone, go for the 3GS - unless you need push email (which I get on my iPhone anyway via Exchange Activesync) I rate it much higher as a phone.

Pics are on the way later tonight then :)

Can't really take photos to save my life, especially in the dark, so these are quite rubbish!

I don't really like the touch screen on the Storm now I've used it a bit more, but it'll do as my work phone.

Still waiting for mine...should get it by Monday from my contact within Vodafone...told me theres an issue with the first batch so said that hes getting some more in on Monday and will get me one from that stock. He works in the network ops part of Vodafone so his info has been spot on...said whatever this issue is Voda wont acknowledge it which i think is disgusting but he said because of cost issues they wont do anything about it. Something about the screen mechanism that isnt quite right and the second revision has had that issue fixed.

Played with his the other night when we met up for drinks and its pretty slick...i quite liked it and is much much better than the original Storm...OS5 is a blessing in disguise...still waiting for it go official before i shove it on my Bold.

After using it for a few days, this Storm 2 is driving me mad - it keeps dropping calls even though I have a full 3G signal from an Access Gateway. My old Bold 9000 never used to do this.

I'll be phoning Vodafone on Monday :(

Oh dear it looks like my inside info was right about the early batches of the Storm2 being a bit buggy.

Hope you get it sorted out though.

Ouch - I'm considering one and I was hoping that with the Storm 2 they'd have tried to get it right from the start after the issues that plagued the original Storm

A colleague at work has the original Storm - he got it on release day and he's very happy with it now but he said that it was nearly unusable to start with!

its a nice looking phone, a friend of mine got a great deal on his with voda
unlimited internet, unlimited txts, cant remember how many minutes he gets and about £8 less than his old package (no internet) also with voda

he sold the phone on ebay for £490 and just kept his 5800 lol

Vodafone are swapping my Storm 2 tomorrow, I'm in 2 minds really as to what to do - having seen the insane prices they go for on eBay that's a very tempting route!

they need to hurry up with OS5 for the bold cos I want it now

Just install one of the beta ones that are flying around on crackberry...not much difference between the official and leaked ones...the official ones are no different to the beta/leaked ones..all they have is the official carrier stamp on it.

I havent got around to doing mine yet...probably do it later tonight or this week...i played with a Bold thats running OS5 and geez its like a different phone altogether...its fast probably due to the fact that it didnt have any apps on it but it looks good.

OllyM really depends on if you can get on it with...i played with one last night along with the Bold thats running OS5 and i have to say i was pretty impressed with the Storm2...i should have mine by Wed fingers crossed as originally i was meant to get it last week but the guy whos getting it for me said that theres a few issues with the first batch of Storm2's...so told me that on Wed the new batch will have those issues rectified...even on his i found the screen wasnt all that responsive and didnt click right plus there were a few OS glitches i saw.

Personally if couldnt get on with it id sell it and get something different...perhaps the new Bold2 thats due out this week or next according to the guy that i know, who works pretty high up in Voda.

But hoping i get mine by Wed, meeting up with him tonight for a meal where he has the Bold2 so am gonna play with that as well.

The touchscreen on the Storm was crap for me, really hate it! Should be called clickscreen! Oh and as for the battery...meh

Well the Storm2 still has the clickscreen but is much much better than the first Storms screen...has 4 buttons now instead of the one that the S1 originally had...ive played with one a few weeks ago before they were released and i was pretty impressed by how good it actually was...so much so that im hoping to get mine tommorrow...well depends on my vodafone contact and whether the new revised ones are in tommorrow...knowing my luck something will come up so will have to wait a few more days lol.

I've had mine since last week, and very pleased with it. Being a previous iPhone user, the touch screen within Storm2 does require patience, but I rather like the click.

However, not all is good news as I experience dropped calls and lose Signal.

Is it worth phoning Vodafone or is it due to it's OS?

Dropped calls and losing signal issues id ring up Voda and see if theres a problem in your area...it could be the OS but 9/10 times its highly unlikely that it is.
