new laptop screen

not sure i can ask this here? if i cant then i am sorry and will close the thread. not sure if it this counts as asking about competitors! i dont want a ban and will close right away if told to.

My girlfriend has a advent 7090 laptop and the screen has a big crack going through it, i want to replcae the screen but have no idea where to get one from. is there an advent uk spears number or anything?

or if i can get one thu overclockers then great

get one from the bay about £70 quid odd or might find 2nd hand one cheaper.

There are hundreds of laptops spares shops on the web, and failing that, there is always the bay!

tried the bay no screens for advent 7090 on there.

also tried googleing for it cant find it that way either

something like this should fit lcd

just search for 14.1 xga and make sure the harness on the back of yours matches, they look like wide 30 pin type though.

i assumed it would have to be one made for this laptop didnt know other ones could be used. when you say the harness on the back matches do you mean that i need to open the laptop up and i should be able to see how it fits on?

Can i jump in and ask a question. My friends laptop picture keeps rolling like on a TV? What could be the cause of that please?

hi, i have got the old screen out and its model number is ht140wx1 and its a 14" screen not 14.1" so am i right in thinking that the one beermonster told me wont work?

hopefully the screen .... have u tried plugging it in to a tft to see what it does?

... there's 1 on ebay now ..not a screen bt full laptop... be worth getting if its no more than 50 pounds that way u got spare everything .... and also cud double the memoery in it

Sorry my bad, i did search for advent 7090 and the first review said it was a 14.1, so no it won't fit, there are some of the ht140wx1 on ebay but not cheap.
