I cannot believe how much quicker web pages load up with JavaScript being disabled. Anyone else noticed this?

What does JavaScript offer that I'm missing as I cannot see any merits of having it turned on?

Just tried on my Touch and it does seem quite a bit faster with it off!

Remember that Javascript is used primarily for CLIENT side scripting, of course it'll be faster loading webpages with it disabled.
