Its a little quicker than my parents non-samsung HD box. Just need to get used to it now!

Version no. is 973006

Update pattern is odd, mines a 973005 and not updated yet. Maybe its random for feedback?

Not until all the Samsungs get the update. Think they only put it on the force update feed when everyone of that make gets it.

Thompson, Pace, Samsung (973003, 04, 05, 06*, 07, 08 the one's I know of), Amstrad.

*06 mine, got viewing card month ago, no HD Pack, No email, suffice to say no new EPG yet.

i hav some info every one might want to no, it seems that the 30,000 samsung hd boxes that got the new epg last week were some of the 04's (thats mine), 06's and 07's.
so sky not doing the boxes by version numbers. i dont no what sky's playing at but it seems kinda stupid to me.

That was evident from reading many peoples posts on digspy.

If you've got a Samsung or Amstrad box then, make sure you try and do a before and after HD picture quality check if you can. I suggest recording something now on a good HD channel, watching it closely a few times and keep it saved. When you get the EPG update have a look at it again and see if you can notice any difference. What you will be looking for is a slightly less sharp picture on HD channels. It was suggested on another forum that this large delay between the Thompson/Pace EPG update was because they were fixing this before sending it out to Samsung/Amstrad, so hopefully you won't see any picture difference and then maybe us with Thompson/Pace will get a second update later.

i hope this is true as my HD picture is rubbish compared to what it was like before. So much picture noise on the blacks and dark covered areas and it has lost that sparkle which it had previous

My Samsung box had the new epg on it when I turned it on today. It's OK I suppose, probably not worth the wait though. Not very smooth when scrolling through the guide at all.

HD pq looks ok so far but I had to change the contrast to high to get it back to the level that it was at before which was weird.

Got it for my Sammy today too, not sure on it so far. Looks a bit tacky and you can't fit enough of the listings on the screen

yes you can force it to update ( i ve done both my pace boxs in the past) The only boxs you can force are pace samsung and thopson?
