What are the consequences...

Must be something at least vaguely interesting with those tyres. Perhaps spending less on the car so you could actually afford to run it may have been prudent.

It's a Saxo with 16" Fox alloys.

How do you know :O

Qwik-fit said its £110 per tyre for my alloys and £12.50 per wheel to fit.

But on a well known auction site i can get a pair of these Toyo Proxes 195/40/r16 for £113 delivered.

So i have ordered them and just going to take them down to qwik-fit when they arrive to be fitted.

Bus for the next few days :(

If you're that skint find a decent provider of part worns. Make sure you get a decent brand and try to get a reasonably matched pair, ie same brand/model.

Saxo vtr 1.6

Hang on. You've got one of the most expensive to insure and desirable hot hatches.................at the expense of being able to afford to put tyres on it!

With all due respect i think you need a reality check. Chuck some part worns on, sell it and get a 1.1 saxo or a mondeo. Get some no claims, get your insurance down and then buy a hot hatch.

Na, the car is cheap to run bar insurance. If it was me I'd buy the stock 14" wheels to keep tyre costs down. The stock wheels suit the car, I can only imagine 16s look a bit silly.

You should have asked on the forum before buying. Also which Toyo Proxes are they? The T-1R or the PX4? And you do realise you could have ordered off camskill and got them for £108 delivered.

They are the T-1r mate, the auction site gives me them for the same price as camskill for a set. no worries :)

I'd pick up some 14's or 15's, less unsprung weight and the proper ride height will make it nicer to drive as well as save you money on tyres...
