So its halloween and I fancy some horror for tonight.

Something recent ( and available in HD!) is preferred, just because i've seen the classics a million times. Either something serious or something cheesy and full of gore and boobies, I don't mind :p.

So stuff I've enjoyed recently.......

Last House On The Left
Eden Lake
Drag Me To Hell
The Haunting in Connecticut
Event Horizon
Friday the 13th (Micheal Bay remake)
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane
Dawn Of The Dead (Zack Snyder remake)
Saw series
Jeepers Creepers
The Descent
The Mist
Midnight Meat Train

Errm thats about all i can think of off the top of my head. Any suggestions guys?

I am a fan of cheesy gratuitous 'horror' also so feel free to suggest anything along those lines.

Event Horizon is epic. Jeepers Creepers is one of the most dreadful films I've ever seen. The first ten minutes I thought were superb, but it then went drastically down hill!

As I said, I'm quite happy with cheesy horrors aswell. His cheesy grin is brilliant.

"Trick 'r Treat" is out now on DVD. Get on it, now!

Its not bad but its got a very low budget made for TV feel to it. More like something you would see on Tales from the Crypt.

Didn't like the Orphanage at all, very predictable and boring IMO.

Drag me to Hell and Last House on the Left are probably the best recent horror genre films Ive seen, but you've already seen them.

Was Friday the 13th remake any good?

Reeto just watched My Bloody Valentine and Trick r Treat.

MBV was absolute steaming donkey turd. I have a pretty low threshold for enjoying even the crappiest cheesiest 'horrors' but this was absolute tosh. So so so so poorly acted it was horrendous. Rubbish script, rubbish story just rubbish everything.

Trick R Treat on the other hand was brilliant! It reminded me of the treehouse of horror simpsons episodes. I'd LOVE it if horror movies started going back to this formula, supernatural stuff is much cooler than nutters slowly chasing peoples with hatchets/maces/knifes/whatever.

If you're into that sort of thing try 'Outpost'. It's a bit like Dog Soldiers without the werwolves.

Promising British director was let down by rubbish script.

I'm not really into the horror genre as I feel there's nothing original any more. However, I did sit though all of 'Outpost' so give it a go.

*Goes off to watch Event Horizon* (The only horror film I really rate).

Worst film I have EVER seen at the cinema. I only stayed because i bought popcorn.

I'm glad you guys hated it too, it had a lot of love when it first came out. JUST because of Sam whatever his name is.. terrible film

The Amityville Horror
The Grudge

both of these should be on your list

Drag Me To Hell is a comedy, much like Evil Dead 2/3, or at least that's how it seemed to me.

Last House on The Left is decent but not great.

Amityville Horror was rubbish.

The Grudge was decent but stay away from Grudge 2, awful.

Trick R Treat I might have to check out.

Of all the films I've seen that have been mentioned in this thread so far the only one that stands out is Event Horizon. Superb Film.

Jeepers creepers was a comedy I found, he's smile was hilarious.

Don't remember what the film is called, something to do with a noise playing down a phone line and a bridge collapsing, but that was quite good from what I remember, its quite a few years old, maybe someone knows the name of it?

That will be The Moth Man Prophecies - I really enjoyed it.

For some reason OCUK is blocking *Moth Man* all one word - a dodgy ex-member perhaps?
