My idea is to connect my existing sky dish (with three boxes connected to it, 1 is HD) to a tv tuner card that im going to buy so i can record anything to my HDD.

I want to run a cable from the sky dish LNB into the card to receive sky on my PC.

Will this work and will I have the HD channels etc?

Also, does anyone know how you then browse the channels? Im assuming the TV Cards software does it somehow.

The Sky hardware is proprietary and isn't available on a TV Tuner card that I'm aware of.
You've got two options :
1) buy a DVB-S card and connect to the LNB for the free to air channels.
2) get an additional Sky box and connect to the PC using a interconnect lead such as s-video.

Will i receive the HD channels if I get a DVB-S card? Might have to buy an HD version.

If i go for the additional sky box option using s-video, how does it work in terms of browsing channels and recording on my pc.

Only if they are free to air. BBC HD, maybe ITV when it launches properly? The rest are Sky encrypted as far as I know.

You'd have to schedule the recordings on the Sky Box, then set the PC to record off the video input at the same times. There used to be IR senders that connected to the PC and would wake the Sky box then change to the correct channel last time I looked into it.

Seemed like a lot of aggro, so I bought a Panasonic HDD recorder instead!
