EX58 UD3R (1.6) overclocking- how far can i go?

I've been thinking about getting the Corsair H50 kit and overclocking my i7 920 D0 a bit. Is 3.4Ghz-3.6Ghz easily achievable on this revision? Read some problems in a review where it was very unstable at 3.8Ghz due to high although neccessary voltage for the QPI.

Any ideas??

yeah very good kit ive got same kit @ 4.0ghz Stable!
you've just got to be gentle and raise things slowly.

Ah ok great, would you be able to post some of your voltages for your 4GHz oc? I know they wont be exactly the same, but it just gives me some bearing on what the voltages need to be for stability.

got same mobo and chip ram is diff @ ocz gold 1600. does 4.2 on 24/7 profile.
also have another profile at 4.4 just for testing

just a case of messing with volts each rig will differ

What voltages did you alter? Was it just the cpu, QPI and uncore voltages mainly?

yup just the main ones for 4.2 also had to play with the ram times

Great stuff, did you take off turbo, speed step and the other power saving features for the oc then put them back on after or just leave them off?
