Was there something up with the insanity config server last night. Was trying to get on it about 8pm last night with Sh4rk, couldn't connect to begin with, then when we did it seemed to crash.

Typical really, first time I've had time to play in ages.

Dead Before Dawn - Final

Dead Before Dawn is a campaign based off the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. The campaign sports various locations from the movie, including:

* The Crossroads Mall
* Andy's Gunshop
* Anna's House
* The Park
* etc.

Install info:

CLIENT SIDE (i.e Your own pc)

Extract the Dead Before Dawn folder to Steam/SteamApps/Common/left 4 dead/left4dead/addons

Start up Left 4 Dead, in the main menu open your console and type: snd_rebuildaudiocache
It will seem as if a map is loading, let it load, if it gets stuck on a full loading bar,
leave it for 5 minutes before CTRL ALT DEL out of it to close it down

If you dont know how to open the console go to options, keyboard and mouse, and enable developers console.
You can now bring the console up by pressing the tilde key (`) which is to the left of the 1 key.

KNOWN BUG - DO THIS TO AVOID IT!

There is a known bug with a soundloop that occurs when setting zombies on fire, open the console and type this: bind g "snd_restart"
Anytime you get the soundloop bug, just tap the G key and it will stop. We apologise for this bug, but its a problem within L4D not the campaign.

SERVER SIDE

Extract the CONTENTS of the folder to /left4dead. Pay attention that you extracted the CONTENTS of the DeadBeforeDawn folder directly into your left4dead folder.

INCORRECT: left4dead/DeadBeforeDawn (There must be NO DeadBeforeDawn folder, only the files and folders inside the DeadBeforeDawn folder)
CORRECT: /left4dead

If you install it to the addons folder on your server, it WILL NOT detect it.

I'll be up for it. Gonna upload to ocuk1 sometime this week (I've dl it now).

The Insanity Versus server was playing up, but I restarted it and it appeared to be working for the next couple of games that were on it.

Ok, so it looks like Link, Tefal, Robert and myself are on for an expert game of DBD tonight @ around 8pm. I'm trying to upload to Ocuk 7 right now but we may have to host locally depending on how it goes

Have only started up the first level to take a look around and the map looks amazing.

No, same as you. Just booted up the first level to have a look around. So on expert mode tonight this should be interesting.

Yeah i did as it said to do it loads up then just stops on the loading screen, left it for 10 mins and nothing.

Yeah, did the same for me. I then ctrl+alt+del out and kill the L4D process. Then load up L4D again and pick it from the custom campaigns list - load a lobby and away you go.

just check your console when it does that it should say it;s done and the time it did it in, then ctrl alt tab and end the process.

I had to do the same. A bit of a dodgy install but works in the end.

I've playe dthe first map and i am impressed, very nice. BUT i cannot load the second map, my game freezes at the stats page and i have to ctrl alt del it.

Anyone know this fix?

Ok guys, looks like we are in business. OcUK 7 have been updated with the new DBD map. It is reserved for a game today @ 8pm for Link, Tefal, Robert and myself - but other than that enjoy!

Had a quick go on the first map of Dead before Dawn on single player campaign last night, stunning work gone into this. Valve could learn a lesson or two from the quality of this campaign release.
