Bricky?

It's the most ergonomic and comfortable controller ever!?

I really get confused when people say the xbox controller is uncomfortable...

EDIT - Lol rp2000! Please come back so we can all play Forza 3, where has the scene gone.... Forza 2 scene was the best OcUK gaming experience ever!
lol at most ergonomic

just because people on here favour it doesnt mean its more ergonomic. the shape of it is turd imo. the position of the sticks will never make sense to me and the front shoulder buttons are crippling. but then again thats only my opinion just like that its heavy and has worse buttons and d pad than even the ps2 pad which was atleast 100%

just like the people here who dont get on with the ps3 pad and got rid i did the same with my 360 after launch. the turbo fans helped that decision too. and the live trial running out.

the only problem i have with ps3 is that a lot of mates have 360s i :( would be miles easier if we all had same console or even better could play console vs console

I got a PS3 sept 08, used it a little but mainly played CSS on PC..

Then i got a 360 for xmas 08.. and my PS3 is simply only used for Blu-Ray. I just love the 360 ga,es and xbl is fantastic.

However... Wipeout HD is pan moistening....

I've never been hugely impressed with the PS3 when I've played it round a mates house for the following reasons-

Graphics don't look as sharp (and thats on his Sony Bravia compared to my Beko :o )
Controller kills my hands
Almost everytime he fires it up we sit looking at an update bar for 25 minutes
Online play is very flaky
Interface doesn't seem as slick

Thats from limited experience though.

graphics are perfect so dont know whats wrong with his setup

the controller is perfectly fine too, i find the 360 one gives me a callus on my middle finger on my left hand if i use it, which is its only bad point apart from batteries etc

if he has to update it every time he starts it up, he only ever uses it once every 4 months

interface is fine too

so the only valid point is about the online play, which can be flaky, but it is free which is a big plus point

Had a 360 from launch and i love it!

Had a PS3 since last week and i have to say... it's pretty damn good! I can watch BBC iPlayer on it and games do look amazing on it (Killzone, Heavenly Sword etc.)

There are games that look **** poor, but that's the developers fault, not the PS3.

Blu-Ray playback is brilliant! Takes less time to load then a stand alone player and it just looks... amazing!

Overall, the 360 & PS3 are great consoles and i could never choose between them.

I always find the best on the PS3 graphics wise is better than the best on the 360. Apart from that my 360 does tend to get more game time, mainly because I buy a reasonable amount of multiplatform games for the 360, PES, Fifa etc Simply prefer the 360 controller.

If you had loaded up uncharted 2 or almost any other top title, every single one of those little nit picks would have seemed insignificant.

Online play the way I see it is, psn/live whatever are all a compromise compared to a PC game with dedicated servers. Even if they were as good as pc systems, you are still gimped by a controller rather than keyboard and mouse. It's just nice that the ps3 does have the ability to go online, if that title isn't available on the pc.

I urge any halo 3 players to get into TF2/CSS/COD/BF2 on the pc and see how much lower of a gaming experience they are really having.

I just bought CoD4:MW on Steam at the "special" offer. It will be my first outing ever of PC multiplayer. I hope you're right. I'm fed up of wonky gamepad aiming in multiplayer. But I hope my laptop can actually run the game first. :D

Dedicated servers make it much better, Infinity Ward are ******* thick for removing them from MW2. It's gonna tank on PC because of this.

I love my ps3, i started playing on it again about 3 weeks ago. i finally finished GTA4 after getting 90% through, then my ps3 broke. lately ive been practising on cod4 until mw2 comes out.

True, not only the removal of dedicated servers and disabling any mods and the fact its done so they can charge for DLC on the PC seems a step in the wrong direction.

Since when did i state that because people favour it on here means it's ergonomic?! That's not what i said at all.

Maybe you should have scratched up on those D.T lessons while you were in school and read about what "ergonomic" is. The PS3 controller is a 15 year old design and is vastly inferior to the xbox pad.

The ergonomics of the xbox are excellent. Fits right into my hand perfectly and i never get cramp when playing for long sessions. The triggers are absolutely fantastic and has made the xbox the only console to get driving games and shooting games for.

The sticks are in a perfect position, being where they are means you never touch thumbs while playing FPS games. The sticks themselves have indents in them so the thumb has more traction. The PS3 sticks pale in comparison, they have no grip once you start to get sweaty thumbs, your thumbs touch when you play FPS games and the trigger....well... the triggers are just awful, style of substance right there.

If you think the controller is too big, well, let say this, my other half has tiny hands and she thinks the xbox controller is the most conformable controller also!

I could go on but you get the jist of it.

Been there done that.

Went from PC to the xbox. The multiplayer on the xbox is vastly better due to the headset and everyone using one.

The PS3 is better than the 360 in every way.

Wrong.

Xbox is better at;

-Mulitplayer
-Crisper/Sharper Graphics
-Headsets - Everyone has one when you play online!
-Quieter (now you can install games)
-All games 1080p upscaled
-Better controller
-Game updates are quicker to download and install
-You don't have to install everything and anything

If you want me to list plus points of the PS3 i shall happily do so. I do have a launch day 60GB PS3 and have played it extensively so I'm not just some blind fanboy.

My PS3 sits pretty much unused nowadays but I think this is more down to the fact I get bored of games very quickly rather than just a dislike for the console its self. I would agree it is quite impressive though as a Console / Blu ray player / media playing device. Mine got most hammered when I was using it as a media player until I built a dedicated HTPC and it did a pretty good job of that.

iPlayer support is a cool feature also.
