I was wondering, do you guys think it would be worth trying to sell my Zotac GTX 275 AMP! Edition card, and buy a 5850, or sit it out until we see what Nvidia come up with?

I don't want to jump ship basically, and discover than a better one comes along.

Is it best to wait it out? Or go upgrade now and hope Nvidia don't beat ATi performance wise with new cards be they high-end or mainstream.

omg dont do what i just did , ordered a 5850 put my 4870 on ebay , then found out i might be 3 weeks waiting for a 5850 , then cancelled my order with ocuk , only to find my 4870 had sold on ebay befor i could pull it lol

well personally i would wait, but then i suppose the 275 might not fetch as good a price latter, on the other hand with the stock levels of 5850's and the speed they are selling out at, you might not be able to get one before fermi arrives anyway.:D

Hmm. I suppose so. If it's taking a while to get the 5850 stock, then I might as well wait.

Like you say Fermi might be here for gaming by then...I hope.

You poor man! What you gonna do now??

I would sell your GTX 275 as its rarity makes it a nice price. Wait for the GTX 300 series, that way you can decide and the 5800 series will drop in price. If possible you can sell the 275 and use an old card to last you until then.

I sold my 275 for £140 last week and bought a 5850 and I'm very pleased. 1920x1200 with FSAA and AF is now far superior to what I was seeing with the 275. Furthermore its a lot quieter and smaller.

Why wait for the gtx300 when it could be over 2 months away andwill most likely cost the earth to buy.

well according to custum pc latest edition the 5850 is about equal to a 275.

sell it now. who's wondering if ati have stockpiles of 58xx ready to ship at new nvidia bashing price when fermi hits?.

Even if not once the initial gold rush settles down and stock starts shipping the 5850 should get at least back down to some of the sub £200 launch prices.

With supplies bveing as they are there should be customers out there wanting these - stop gaps / sli set up etc.

The 5870/50 have better image quality than the current crop of NV cards, sell the 275 and get the 5850, you wont be disappointed.

Lol where the hell did you hear that? The 5850 outperforms the 275 and 285 by a LARGE margin.

Like i said in custum pc magazine page 11 issue 75 just stating what they are saying and the 5850 got between 1-2 fps compared to the 275.
