The "I'am excited about playing modern warfare 2 on the PC thread.

surely you mean javelin, LAW's have been in games for over a decade, even the old Nova logic delta force games used to have them.

Joint Ops had the Javelin years before CoD4 anyway.

I think I'll probably get it for the PC for the single-player, then sell it and buy the PS3 version for multiplayer. I'd like to have a copy for both platforms, but at not at the ludicrous prices they're charging.

Well glad to see some people will get enjoyment out of it :) though it pains me activision will get your moneys :(

We are all doing just to spite you and the whole multiplayer community. While playing we will be smoking a cigar, twirling our moustaches and laughing our bitter little laughs.

I loved the SP of CoD 4 but frankly I don't think IW deserve my money after screwing over us PC players, so I'm still gonna boycott. :)

And unless the SP is twice as long as CoD 4 it's not worth £30 by a long shot.

couldn't give a monkeys about the incredibly easy basic and small MP side of the game but likely won't buy it till I see a great deal on it anyway as I have other things to play. The SP will be fantastic, I simply trust those guys to make a kick ass story that with characters you like with sequences that are simply amazing the first time you play them, thats all I want from a game tbh.

Seems rather harsh to be honest. Cod4's multiplayer was refreshing though not as good as people give it credit for. I just hope pc gaming doesnt wander down the path of the consoles. Dedicated servers are what make MP so much better on the Pc. Consoles need to be changing to DS not the other way around. ( First time i have heard there will be no dedicated servers and i am gutted lol :P )

Caught up with all the no dedicated servers hoo-haa.
I am only a casual gamer so.......can't see it making a difference to me.
Plus my main other FPS game used to be Soldier Front, surely the servers can't be worse than ijji's?
If it is a good game, it is a good game; now I can find out for myself on release.
Oh and the deciding factor; pre-purchase cd-key, £18.06. A fiver cheaper than I originally pre-ordered.:)

I was excited until they announced the lack of dedicated server support. Then I though "oh well, at least coop is still there, they must have some reasoning behind it" Then they started answering boycotts with "PC Nerds" and all that nasty unprofessional childish attitude. I'm not paying them to be seen as second rate so pre-order cancelled.

May pick it up in a bargain bin a year or two down the line to try the coop missions, but not quite so bothered any more. As far as I'm concerned Activision & Infinity Ward can stuff themselves.

It is a shame, because I was REALLY looking forward to it. :(

They answered peoples posts with "PC Nerds"??? Thats shocking, what an unprofessional company. If they had said that in my profession they would have been dismissed.

when my friends and i all got Cod4 on PC (we'd had it on our consoles before) the first thing that annoyed us is how hard it was to just play a private game with us, and lack of friends list.
so this will be awesome.

and hopefully the killstreaks will be less horrific (I HATE HELICOPTERS!!!) and from what ive seen of the multiplayer it'll hopefully be less hiding in corners etc.

so yay MW2

After how badly they've treated the PC community, I won't be buying another CoD game, which is a sad state as I've supported them since CoD1 and have very much enjoyed them.

The Multiplayer "improvements" no thanks.

Let's all go back to UO :D

It never will be though - CoD 4 is still £30 at Play and most other retailers because Activision are like Disney are for DVDs and they fix their prices absurdly high.

The difference is theres a market for COD4 based on its replayability - and were not talking about the SP game. For this COD replayability has been knackered so that leaves the SP game which, lets be honest, is going to be pirated to hell and back by a lot of people. I expect COD:MW2 to come down in price alarmingly quickly unless they write off the PC market altogether - and that may be a decision that bites them in the butt later rather than sooner.

Anyway, another vote for substantial price drop, probably within 6 months, then ill get it.
