So I'm wanting to learn to play.

Prefer electric, anyone know any places that sell them?

Maybe someplace with a good deal with an amp ect? Or recommendation of seperates?

Poss spend £100 max. Just something thats gunna work and do me well for a few months while i learn.

Argoose? usually do some starter kits for semi decent prices, but you're probably looking at £130 ish for guitar bag, amp and tutorial dvd

Don't need a DVD ect, I'll be learning from mates ect.

Bag wise, not really needed prob won't be taking from house, so will invest in one at a later date.

that's understandable, but that's basically the starter packs, guitars you could probably find one for about £100 but the amps would be about £50 or so anyway, so it's a good kit to get you going

I'd say spend more and get a mexican Fender Strat. Not so long ago you could get them for £279 but I think they might have gone up with the dollar/pound exchange rate. You will then have a guitar that a lot of bands use and should be no need to change it. If you spend £100 and dont stick to it, the guitar will be almost worthless really. Hard to sell. If you don't take up the Fender then you can sell it for a good price.

You can get some good Squiers but you need to know what you are looking for when trying them.

A better guitar is easier to play and more rewarding to hear. I'm not that good on my Fender but I'm ok but i struggle on some cheaper guitars

For £100 whatever you buy is going to sound and play like ****. But it'll be enough to learn on. Just go to your local music shop and ask them what they have as a deal, you can usually haggle in some extras.

Oh and don't learn from mates, get proper lessons, you don't wanna develop habbits. Have a few lessons from a proper instructor, learn a bit by yourself, get in a band/ jamming with mates. It's the best way if you ask me.
