Hi all i have a xfx 5850 and i bin having loads of problems with it, firstly when the computer posts the screen is blank the fan on the graphics card spins up and down bout 6 times then it eventually loads up into windows ok

the above problem i can live with, but every game i play except counterstrike seems to crash for no reason at differnet times, ive tried ut 3, crysis, warhead, l4d 2 demo, borderlands, they all crash eventually.

ive monitored temps and it crashes when temp is only 47 sometimes less, a minute ago i was playing borderlands for bout half hour fine, then i had a phone call so i left game as it was with character just looking at the sky, for around 5 mins, then when i came back i moved character and instant crash of game

ive tried all drivers/bioses i give up!!!

p.s my specs - 4gig 1066mhz corsair dominator ddr2 5-5-5-15, gigabyte ms720-us3 mobo, x2 550 black edition @ 3.7ghz, xfx 5850 @ 1.2v 950/1225

Before you guys post about problems with cards crashing , recheck your overclocks , put your card back to standard settings see if the crashes stop? nothing is garanteed with overclocking ...you card standard should be 725 , so your running it well over spec

i got this message last time it crashed

check to make sure any components near the graphics card are firmly plugged in and they were not disturbed when you put the graphics card in.

Crashes you are experiencing are similiar to issues with RAM. Make sure all the ram modules are firmly seated. Then check your bios and make sure they are running at the correct default speed.
Another thing to try is just have one module in to see if it crashes. (eg 2mb)

What about sound too are you using onboard sound by any chance and HD Audio ? Seen this happening before with someone using old onboard sound drivers and a 5800 card.
