The "I'am excited about playing modern warfare 2 on the PC thread.

I'll prolly play the single player through multiple times like a good movie. Some people seem to either be extremely poor, extremely tight or have a warped idea of what good value is. 7 Hours of awesome single player is great for £30 alone, then add in the multiplayer, co op and you have great value for money. The multiplayer looks pretty shallow anyways so I'am not too bothered about the lack of dedi servers.

I lose count of the amount of games I've bought at full price, and only played for 8 hours or so. Just because games like tf2, and css have massive value, dosen't mean every game must have this massive value otherwise you will only pay half price for it.

And as always I'am disspointed by the childish people, who seem to think just because it dosen't have a great multiplayer this blockbuster game is not worth anything. And therefore use it as an excuse to pirate. It just dosen't wash, if you really must do this I'd rather not know about it thankyou very much.

and hopefully the killstreaks will be less horrific (I HATE HELICOPTERS!!!) and from what ive seen of the multiplayer it'll hopefully be less hiding in corners etc.

so yay MW2

helicopters were deadly if your team was useless, if you actaully worked as a team then you could take down the chopper in seconds helping the whole team and yourself.

if you hate heli's, and i've read things right, i can't wait too see what you think about the nuke :D.

Have fun with the AC-130 and the nukes then

the nuke kills everyone once. and we don't have any idea what the other loadouts may be.

the problem with the copter is how it can shoot you through roofs, and over and over again if you spawn badly.

the ac-130, yea its awesome, you cant run about killing people while it's shooting, you've gotta control it yourself.

and can people keep their why their not buying it in the boycott thread.

I'm still undecided.

Really love CoD4 single player, and dont want any of my mates to absolutely ruin it for me as they usually do, but the lack of MP Dedi servers is forever putting me off pre ordering it.

I'm 1/2 way atm.

They're using the same engine, their is no reason they couldn't have added Dedicated servers, I'm guessing it'll probably be easier to put dedicated servers in place than create this IW.net so begs the question why didn't they give the fans what they want?

Nobody's saying it isn't worth anything because it doesn't have MP. They're saying that IW are basically taking the **** by not offering dedicated servers for PC gamers, when PC gamers made Call of Duty and their company what it is today.

I'm sure the SP will be excellent as always, but I won't be buying it or acquiring it through any means.

I still thought cod 4 was fantastic online, and thats the main reason why i will buy mw2 even if i may choose to buy it on the xbox 360 instead.
£4.29 per hour is not good value for money in my opinion.

If you play online then you can easily gain multiple days of play time from it.

Dont see why people who enjoy a good multiplayer experience are childish. I cant handle playing a FPS single player it just bores me, but that doesnt mean that others wont. Fact is the company have taken a step backwards here instead of one forwards. With all the money this game was set to rack in too you would think they would not skimp in arguably its most important replayability aspect.

£30 for about 5-6 hours (according to those that have pirated the 360 version) is terrible value for money. Using extra multiplayer to say it's better value for money doesn't count, since its such a crippled version of what it should be.

Just because you've bought games for full price and havnt bothered to play them much doesn't change the fact that 6 hours of gameplay for £30 is poor value for money.

If people are pirating it i honestly dont care in this case, IW deserve it after what they've done to the game, and the comments they've made about PC Gamers.

Firstly, for the love of God please stop typing "I'am" - you either mean "I'm", or the full "I *SPACE* am". I've been trying to tame the inner grammar nazi for the last couple of weeks, but I won't help people who won't help themselves.

Secondly, £30 for 7 hours play? I can't understand how you think that's good value, but ?I guess I'm just not that into shooters. I'll pick this up when it's cheap, which it will be very soon, but as an RPG fan I can't rationalise that level of waste, especially with 70+ hours minimum Dragon Age pre-loaded, excluding multiple origin playthroughs and the extra DLC which I got cheaper than Steam's MW2 pre-order

I should not have made that post before, it's totally recked the thread. I'll just say that I'll agree to disagree with you guys. My view, alongside yours is plain for everyone to see.

You misinterpreted me. But thanks for picking me up on it, what I meant was it's perfectly fine to avoid it because the multiplayer isn't to your liking. However it's not ok to pirate it because the multiplayer isn't to your liking but the single player is.

What I have bolded is exactly why 7 hours seems bad value to you. RPG's cannot be compared, while I have no doubt dragon age will be great it won't be a cinematic experiece like a hollywood blockbuster. It will be deep, slow, there will be backtracking upgrading of skills, equipment etc. Shooters like cod are action packed, you are constantly on the go with adrenaline pumping, cannot be compared at all. I suggest you give max payne 2 a go, it was around 6 hours long and one of the best games I've ever played.

I'm excited about not playing this game.

EDIT: I'm not angry over this game, for me COD died when they released Mordern Warfare. Choppers, bombing runs, martydom, last stand all made the game rubbish.

I'll concede that, Max Payne 2 was awesome and well worth the £20 I spent on it. If I take a moment to think about it, I've only ever bought a few games so close to release that I've payed full price for them, so I guess my past experience is rather biased.

Im still undecided to be honest, I really enjoyed the single player campaign in MW. I know it had its problems but it also had some really excellent set pieces and was just damn good fun. I enjoyed the mp game, wasnt hugely into it but it was great to jump in for a blast every now and then.

With MW2 Im very keen to try the single player again and Im fairly sure from what Ive seen that the mp will be pretty good. Just not sure I want to support IW's whole dedi server debacle. Think I'll just wait a while and see how the whole matchmaking setup pans out.
