If I backup the EADM folder and reinstall windows or whatever after a year will I be able to install and activate the game properly?

If not their system is a complete joke.

I think you can install it again yeah - it's just that you can't re-download it after a year.

It's a 5 install limit though. So after that I presume you have to ring EA to get your limit increased.

Yes.

I think they still only provide the download for one year but other than that, it's exactly the same as a normal retail copy with the activation stuff, so as long as you have the files it downloads backed up, you should be fine.

That was mentioned in the last thread but when I downloaded Burnout it told me I had a year to make the download, so I can only assume it's still in place.

You can install it an unlimited amount of times AFAIK, provided you 'deactivate' it first. It isn't five lifetime installs, it's five 'unique' installs. (Still crap but not as bad as it may at first seem)

....download was happy at 1.1Mbps for five mins... then 800Kbps... now 300Kbps

2h arrival is now 7h. Sod. Restarting the download doesn't help either and it won't allow download acceleration because it uses EA download manager.
