What would you change on it?
the only reason i'm going with Xfire 4870 is because i want xfire, are 58** going to come down quite a bit in a few months? it may be worth me getting one of them and getting another later.

Unless the games you play are going to take full use of crossfire, which many dont. Then you would be better to get a 5850, comparable performance, dx11 support, and costs way less in electricity!

OEM does not come with a cpu coller, so get the retail.

Agree with above, even if they do use xfire fully, Id still prefer a single 5850, and yeah either swap cpu for retail one or add aftermarket cooler, for around £20 the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2 and akasa ak-968 x4 are both good

for frame rates in current games its slightly worse than a 4870x2, however it has DX11 amongst other things going for it

Looking at the 5850 prices, they're pretty much the same as the 4870's so i'll go with that.
just waiting for a friend to get get back to me with his I5 spec before i finally decide on motherboard and ram/
