**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Bushmin, you've made some good post in previous threads but please dont go turning this into a flame war, in a thread thats to quite possibly the most important rpg game well since BG2:)

? hmmm? Have you read any of this thread?

Less of the personal insults or youll be going on holiday.

Well considering the legal release date for the UK is Friday and you have it before without ANY proof, i'd call that pirating.

Regardless if you got it from any other country, If we can't talk about TV shows that haven't aired in the UK, then we shouldn't be allowed to do the same.

So either shut up and stop ruining this thread for everyone else, or just stop posting.

nvm, your all being asses. yeah its the same as wow and thats what people can relate to aside from the fact the talent are almost the same. Nothing new or innotive. Next time ill say its like baulders gate.

Jesus Teki, calm down. You know full well he has it legally, stop being an ass.

Where is his proof? And that doesn't detract from the fact that no one should be discussing the game in content because ITS NOT RELEASED IN THE UK!!!!!!!!

You can not discuss TV shows aired in any other country before it has been released in the UK, i do not see a single reason why that shouldn't count here?

I don't want to pop into a thread and be bombarded with people who "acquired" there copy and post details just to gain e-peen status.

"You've got the game and I haven't. That not fair! If *I* can't talk about it, YOU can't talk about it either. Hhmph."

The reality is the game is being sent out early. Sure there are pirates too. But a lot of legit owners. Deal with it.

Maybe someone should change the heading of this thread to "Who has a legit copy of Dragon Age Origins"

Lets just try and keep the OP and not just argue about legit copies for three pages. Make love not war ;)

Funny how the internet takes on a totally different character.

The legal system states, innocent until proven guilty.
The internet system states, guilty until proven innocent.

Who cares if he has it legit or not, its not your problem. Everyone and their dog has copied something in there life time, be it a VHS tape, Cassette, CD or DVD. Even recording something off the TV is breach of copyright or playing your radio loud in your car, so quit ya moaning!

OK. Ill shut the **** up.

It doesnt matter how we got the game (as long as it was legal!) or how much we paid, its still gonna rock.

To bring back the point that people have been seeing reviews that are saying its too long and too hard is madness, absolute madness. I just watched the GameTrailers review who said it was too long for this day and age. Almost spat my tea out.

It is very apparent to see whats happened to games when you play games like Drakensang, which is a very good game indeed. Its just that it is so easy, i had no idea how to make a charactor using Dark Eye but i still managed to make an indructable warrior. I think publishers want people to play a game like they watch a movie, maybe they are afraid that people will get angery that they die all the time and give it bad reviews.

Goes back to MMO's like WoW and AoC where you never have a fear of dying because there are no concequences (apart from a maybe a long walk), but who would pay for a MMO if you can loose your levels if you die.... i would!

I can't help but think everyone is disagreeing with Teki because... well, its Teki. Any other user and I daresay you'd all agree.

I cannot wait for this game and I like to use this thread as a discussion point, piracy, even suspected piracy, gets threads closed or heavily moderated (just look through the high res image thread for example) and thats not fun for anyone.

Either stick to the forum rules or go somewhere else.

The legal system might say innocent until proven guilty but it doesnt mean it. Why are you put in jail before you have had your trial? Its all guilty until proven innocent. :D

Anyway. So whats this game actually like? I have seen some clips on tube which seemed ok but nothing that suggested game of the year like some are suggesting. What makes it different to other similar games?

It's no surprise that we see more and more releases that are only 2 or 3 hours long when reviewers make complaints such as when an obviously epic-from-the-outset rpg is "too long for this day and age".

It's almost as if they only have 5 minute attention spans. no wonder the only games that recieve awesome reviews are those that offer nothing more interesting than out-and-out blast fests, running from explosion to explosion (i'm looking at Crysis here, and others of that nature).

It's a shame that this is the apparent "voice of the consumer". I hope developers pay a little more attention to user responses on forums than to reviews.

Some of the revies for DA:O have been staggeringly odd. "It's not that great, it's too long, it's too hard... we give it 98%".

I have noticed this too. How can a game be too long? At least I am getting good value for my money (of course assuming the game is good). Game developers just cant win...too long, too short, has been done before (a crazy statement given that just about everything has been done before...really, who cares?). It is just getting silly now.

We should make our own review website.

We could have a panel of 8 or 10 reviewers, set a date for each to submit a review (or go ahead without them) and then create a conclusion based on everyone's opinions. Do it for all releases of course.

To be honest, surely that's the only way to review a game? You've got a bunch of people, with a bunch of playstyles, playing on a bunch of different configurations and setups... you're much mroe likely to find bugs and problems.

Seriously, it's actually a good idea.

Anyway, just a quick question, has anyone had any info yet on how you will go about getting your hands on the special edition/pre order items? I like to know in advance but can't find anything.

I think that is an absolutely brilliant idea. At least it will be honest opinions of actual gamers, instead of big companies bribing for good reviews.

Great idea mate!!

I'd be up for submitting a review or two if i was accepted onto the panel ;)

Got too much time on my hands :p

Does anyone who ordered off steam know if you can access your game key before release to register on the bioware social site (to link to characters etc) or will we have to wait until the game unlocks?
