v is back november 2009

Picked up by the scfi channel in the uk. Showing it in the new year (i think)

Shocking wait, can't imagine many holding on if it's not untill the new year:o

First 4 eps are on ABC over here then it goes on hold till after the winter olympics, thats what i read today anyway. explains the delay, UK channels dont like the big gaps in schedules. sky often delays the start of shows to avoid these (or at least it used to)

Loved the original series, I don't hold out much hope for this new version judging from the trailer. :(

First Battlestar Galactica gets the 21st century update, then V!! :D

Fantastic stuff......

All they need to do now is get Prisoner: Cell Block H remade and I'll be a happy-chappy!:p

I wonder if they turn to jelly like in the old series. I think thats what scared me when watching it as a kid in the 80s. Thats if i have the right series in my head im sure it had v in it tho.

Premiers tonite in usa so roll on tomorrow when i watch it. :)

You do realise that it's when people use "other means" to watch programs it is a heavy contributor to when a program is cancelled?
Because the viewing figures are screwed.

But of course just "one person" using other means won't hurt (earlier poster in thread).
Of course lots of "one person" soon adds up.

meh i havent watched a show on tv in months, if a show is good enough it'll have enough viewers to carry on, ala lost, dexter, prison break etc.

I agree, except sometimes it's really the only option. Plenty of shows don't get broadcast to the fans because if ridiculous broadcasting rules for example. Take Dollhouse for example, there was no way to watch it legally in the UK for over half a year.

But then again, that attitude is just stupid, as evidence by all the great shows that DO get cancelled.

Only if the person in question has tv viewing figures box in their house - for everyone else its fine. :D

THat has entirely nothing to do with if a show gets cancelled, 90% of shows are cancelled due to network bigwigs not "getting" the shows and showing test screenings to Joe Average from shopping malls with nothing better to do and not "getting" the show. People in the uk watching a show not available here doesn't effect viewing rates. Its a very very are occurance that viewing figures outside of the states contributes to the decision to cancel the show or not, its almost entirely down to american viewing figures and network bigwigs stupidity, lack of publicising shows and putting them on stupid time slots. Things like Firefly were moved around, shown in an odd order, had no fixed time, no publicity and was then cancelled despite being one of the best things around at the time.

I also agree about her short hair, she just looks wrong with short hair, and looks stunning with long hair :(
